Yes he could fall ill with viruses in his weakened state. Chemo lowers your immunity so much that ailments you suffered in the past can resurface and flare up because your immune system is not able to keep them dormant.

Yay! Autumn is my second cousin. Peter used to come to our family reunions. He is very nice. Savannah and Isla will be happy. I would imagine Camilla was very upset at the time - her father Bruce Middleton Hope Shand, MC & Bar, DL (22 January 1917 - 11 June 2006) was an officer in the British Army who served in France as part of the British Expeditionary Force. She would have been thinking of him. Brigitte would have known and reached out to touch her hand in sympathy.
