Even my car had the same problem my sevice center was not able to fix it then I took it to local workshop they told me to change hub which coated me like 5 k then that problem never returned back

I have faced a similar problem in my fortuner. The brake caliper assembly needs to be changed of both the sides then the issue will be resolved.

The brakes on Innova Crysta 2.8 are subpar for the amount of power the vehicle has. The brake rotors are 28mm thick having a diameter of 298mm and with a single piston floating caliper acting on it. This by design is mediocre for a 170BHP body on frame van on a truck chassis with a load capacity of 8 adults. The heat capacity of the rotors is way too less for the weight and the power, resulting in it over heating and causing brake judder. A brake rotor warp is when the rotor develops high and low points on its braking surface. Heat is is a cause for warped rotors. When brake pads apply pressure on a warped rotor the uneven surface causes vibrations and this travels through the tie rods into the steering rack and upto the steering column and steering wheel. Depending up on the severity of the warp the magnitude of the vibrations vary, from minor vibration on the steering wheel while braking to violent shake of the steering wheel with audible judder. The good news is that in most cases the when the rotor cools down the brake judder goes away and driving slow will prevent it. The bad news is that it when the rotors are hot it will return and it "is" a problem and not something to be brushed under the carpet by the owner, driver, service center or Toyota. When a brake rotor warp due to heat it goes out of shape, meaning the high and low points form on the surface of the brake making an uneven braking surface for the brake pads to clamp on. When brake pressure is applied on a warped rotor the uneven surface causes vibrations and this travels through the tie rods into the steering rack and upto the steering column and steering wheel. Depending up on the severity of the warp the magnitude of the vibrations vary, from minor vibration on the steering wheel while braking to violent shake of the steering wheel with audible judder. The good news is that in most cases the when the rotor cools down the brake judder goes away and driving slow will prevent it. The bad news is that it when the rotors are hot it will return and it "is" a problem and not something to be brushed under the carpet by the owner, driver, service center or Toyota. In my case Toyota tried to fix this under warranty by replacing the rotors twice and the caliper and its associated fixing kit once. The 3rd set of rotors were found to be better than the one which came with the vehicle and previously replaced units. But the problem never really went away when braking from very high speeds. But yes there was a definite improvement. From what I saw and measured, there was no change to the dimension of the brake rotor either in thickness or in its diameter, so probably what has probably changed is the metallurgy. For me a definite improvement does not mean a definite fix. Update: The issue was finally fixed in my Crysta by going aftermarket. I upgraded to an aftermarket brake rotor, a slotted rotor with better internal ventilation with high carbon metallurgy with matching brake pads. It took me 3 years to find it.
