Awesome! The bass reminds me of the Joy Division song "Colony." No doubt Wire was an influence on Ian Curtis and the gang - and probably even the other way around. Thanks for posting.

This sholud actually be titled "Forty Versions/Former Airline" since that's what they play starting at 4:11.

It is an enchanting song but i believe it actually emerged from the vortex of Mr Newman's mind as opposed to Mr Gilbert's cerebrum. Read it somewhere once.... Gilbert is a big loss to wire, an abrasive component has been excised from the from the wire sound.

Have to agree with Mike Thorne here - Wire are better on record than live because they play everything faster live. That's fine on the more typically punk songs, but on 40 Versions it just dilutes the impact.
