The multiplayer in FH5 is absolutely broken...even in a convoy with my friend we keep disappearing and reappearing, and it's hard to compete sometimes when servers throw one of us into a different server. It's not a good experience at all, however the first call for Playground Games would be to get rid of the hackers - they mess up everything and make it near impossible, whereas servers...they're a little selective.

i don't know why this is so hard for them, other games like cs or rainbow have anti cheating software, that runs so you can not use aim bots, why the f* is that not possible in a simple car game, where a car can not get faster than this and have not more power and torque than whatever and set this as limiter and done... -.- it could be so easy if they just think over the event horizon.

I must say spending $100+ on this game is honestly beginning to hurt seeing the lack of care from forza to fix the game. Literally have only been drifting near the festival mexico with my friends because its the only place we dont disappear every 10 seconds...we disappear every minute to 2 minutes instead. Honestly not looking forward to any expansions or new cars if i cant even play with my friends. Hardly seen the whole map properly because i'd usually cruise with friends to see it. Now its impossible.

Same here. Spent the full $100 hoping to enjoy the game early with some friends but haven't been able to enjoy the game at all. I don't play the game for anything but to race in freeroam with friends and random people and they just constantly disappear. Kind of crazy that this is still an issue almost a month later. I have a feeling the devs are having serious issues with the servers and have no idea how to fix them.

I mean it's a given. Look at Forza Horizon 4. Ranked racing was a shitstorm from beginning to end. Instead of fixing it, they left it broken, and never implemented a new version into 5. Forza devs are insanely LAZY at fixing anything to better the player experience. But glitch some free money and they turn into the quickest devs on the planet.

For multiplayer, I've found it's only been good if I use the Horizon Tour option. There's only 5 other human players and 6 AI but it seems the mode works well. Maybe the cheaters don't really go to this mode, or are less inclined to play it due to the reduced competitiveness of it. I've played Horizon Open and there are just a lot of weird things going on in that mode. I have had a few races in Horizon Tour where some of the other players were ridiculously fast, and I had one where a player was just phasing through the AI cars. But in general, Horizon Tour is the mode that works best for multiplayer in most cases, and I would recommend it for players who actually want to ENJOY their multiplayer experience as opposed to worrying about hackers and glitches all the time. 1) Horizon Tour doesn't have that issue where you are waiting in the loading screen for a long time. 2) Horizon Tour doesn't have you waiting on the world map for an event to end, since everybody starts on Event 1 at the same time. 3) The only other flaw of Horizon tour is that, it seems to recycle the same tracks again and again--- HOWEVER, this has the added benefit of letting me actually BUILD for those tracks/car classes, and I can get a bit of practice in, before playing the mode itself. I agree that Playground Games NEEDS to fix Horizon Open, Eliminator, and Rivals soon, and it is really sad that they have never been able to completely fix it since Forza Horizon 4. Let us hope that they are reading these comments and that they are genuinely trying to fix these issues soon.

Yes I remember my first game of eliminator in fh5 I was 200meters away from the finish of the final showdown in first place everyone was way behind me and suddenly an other player won who wouldn't actually made it I play than three times more and it was again bugged for me I could see all other players or the same thing as I mentioned before happend

It‘s hard to explain, but here we go: After losing in the Eliminator, I accidentilly clicked "play again", which queued me in another Eliminator session. Right when the Game said "Session joined", I teleported to the Festival, in hopes I could avoid that. So after that, I left the Festival and joined the Eliminator in a very late stage. But I could still interact with my houses and all the races within the arena. So, first thing I did was getting the RS6 '02 (since all the other drops were gone). Luckily I got to beat 2 other players, until I tried to pick up the newer generation of the RS6… well it didn‘t work. The game just didn‘t let me pick up the car. And races were aborted right after they started. After 3 attempts I got eliminated via timeout. Unfortunately I didn‘t record it, because I didn‘t thought it would Impact the Eliminator that much

I had a similar case. Had to do something else, game was kind of paused. Timeout box was totally full, but could go drive back to the last small circle, heard the man saying that it was time for the final race, but in my case I couldn’t join it. the pink circle was still there, there was no finish for me visible, so there it stopped. No money nothing.

I had a something similar happen. I joined an eliminator session while matchmaking for an online race. First race was fine, but the other was cancelled right after starting. Then I got eliminated by timeout. Forza, explain?

Being a horizon fan since the first Horizon I'd say FH4 is what caused all of this nonsense. I just don't understand why Playground would implement a feature that almost never worked in their previous title (72 Player Lobbies). Horizon 3 online had one of the greatest online experiences imo. Their main priority should be online, that's where most of the key features and bugs are happening. Once they fix that then move to the minorities.

I agree, I see no reason why you would have 72 people on one server. You definitely won't be interacting with that many people at once and I think bringing it down to 50 people is a good idea. It could help a lot and would still be enough people to make the map very lively.

I wish they would bring back public user created lobbies again. Not just for private use but for public use to. FH1 had the best free roam system since you could set things up to attract like-minded players into your free room. Activities like S1 drag racing, tag, drift, and car meets were possible and recurring things you could do with others. This MMO/Co-Op campaign hybrid takes away from most player interaction. Players just tend to roam around and do their own campaign races and mess around in their own little world.

The worst “cheater” I found, it could have been a glitch, but he finished a stage race in .2 or something like that seconds and was just floating at the Finnish Line. Really annoying, I wish they would just look at the records that have been set to try and weed out some of the hackers

State of online is shocking. Players dissappear from the servers all the time. When I finally did horizon arcade with nice team, we started convoy to another arcade. Unfortunately all players has disappeared from my session.... When I raced with somebody on the motorway, he also disappeared after few seconds. I've got 175lvl in the game, but I still didn't enjoy online....

from what I managed to gather. The game tries to put you in a collective "pool" of players that share the same general "chunk" in the map so the game doesn't seem empty. Thing is, the game prioritizes this lobby switching mechanic over actual convoys and or friend lobbies. Personally, I'm really disappointed that I can't play with my friend and so are others...

If someone is caught cheating/hacking, they should ban them and remove all of their progress on the leader boards. That's it. If someone can't play the game after the rules, then they shouldn't play it. Of course you can use glitches where the tire sinks into the floor when you drive in a super fast car to reach an insane top speed, but there is also nothing you can do about it that's just how the physics work in this game. But glitches that suddenly increase your hp up to 300.000 or so are obviously not ok. People that constantly use glitches to their advantage should definitely be banned (for some amount of time), and all people who tried a glitch and are on a leader board and didn't use glitches excessively should be just removed from the leader board after the bug was fixed. I never used glitches, at least not consciously, and I also don't understand what's so awesome about them. I think it's childish and it ruins the fun for the player who are skilled at tuning and driving.

I’ve been grinding out accolades and the last accolade I need to complete all of the road racing accolades is to do a race in a 2018 Aston Martin Vantage and what do you know, it’s not even in the game. I could go on and on about things that they need to fix, but that’s where I’m at mainly is in the accolades. Also the seasonal PR Stunts, I’ve completed them but was not given credit for completing them and they all said “1 mph to reach seasonal objective”. It’s getting really frustrating.

I think the best way cheating and hacking fix I could think of for this game would to be hard code it into the game by using the car configurations so in theory if the car acceleration or top speed exceed what is even physically possible it should trigger a online disconnect or ban along with a leaderboard clearing

Multiplayer on horizon 5 is absolutely dogshit, with the constant disappearing of your friends in convoys, lack of consistency the hot fix update and finding out about hackers and cheaters. It really disappoints me that playground games’ priorities aren’t focused on how to make the game better to play but rather focused on providing more content. I call it the “COD” effect.

The 2 biggest problems i have right now in the game are 1: other players randomly fade in and out while in free roam like at the drag strip or just racing non competitively on a strip of road and 2: no one is doing forzathon events (maybe ties into the first issue?)

I think that they should try every PR stunt, rivals challenge etc. and make some stats like fastest time possible or something and when there is suspicious time on a race or score on PR stunt, they will individually contact you for a clip of that time or score to see, if it's legit so it can appear on the leader boards.

This game has been a technical disaster -- There are a lot of parts that are fun, and just great, but so many aspects of the game are just flat out broken -- THIS version of the game we're playing shouldn't even be called Beta, it's that broken... I closed out a 20 month 100% completion streak to transfer my attention over to this game, and everywhere you look in the playlist, there's something else bugged out that won't complete. So my first two months are not 100% complete -- damn sure ain't gonna waste any extra time on this game since that streak is already shot. Nothing like doing a ten minute "challenge" successfully and then having it not actually work, doing it again thinking you did something wrong, and then finally accept that "oh yeah, it's just a sh*t game" -- a 15 second PR stunt is one thing, but when, over the course of a month, "hours" of time gets completely wasted re-doing things that are broken... Yeah, they're going to have to do a LOT of ass-kissing if there's ever going to be any credibility or excitement for any future releases!🤬

Since i play solo (and online just the Horizon Tours) when the festival playlist demands you do to, besides that is most glitches really, and the Ai is nfs rubberband on some races free for all (mostly street races), i got flybyed by a dam beetle (not the FE the normal one)i was in the Jesko above 290 mph and that ai was 340 or more, i was doing the Marathon on the unbeatable (one difficult down i win the race and not a beetle on sight).

Regarding cheaters, it's a no-win situation for them. As soon as they implement anything to fix the issue, hackers and cheaters find a workaround shortly after and it's back to square one again. Private lobbies and freeroam is an option (they don't seem to want to do anymore) but that only helps people with friends or groups they trust. Personally, I don't do multiplayer so it doesn't affect me but I feel for those who do like it.

They should have gone to an aproach of more players in lobbys, like FH3 was 12 per lobby, FH4 could be 30, FH5 up to 50 per session. The only thing this type of online lobbys provide is ghost drivatars and shit interaction with pre selected phrases.

My personal experience of FH5's multiplayer is utterly terrible. This week I was going to win my first Eliminator but near the end I've encountered 4 cheaters at the same time and suddenly became 5th. Also, it's been a while since I haven't had a good Horizon Arcade experience. Every single time I've been playing it alone. In rivals some of the accolades are tied to the leader board and because of the cheaters no matter how hard you try to grant them it's been absolutely impossible. Personally I rather PG pause the festival and series updates for a month or two and focus on fixing these issues altogether once for all.

When you remove all from the map you’ll notice a flickering driveatar logo/icon on the hwy just above the first house “Casa Bella” I’m wondering if this is causing a major issue. Hence players appearing/disappearing? It’s definitely a bug and may be causing the game to freak out, broken code.

I think the multiplayer side of FH5 needs work, they got a good base but there's things that need to be done asap. The cheaters and hackers should be banned from playing multiplayer all together and their scores, distances and times in rivals should be removed and the people who actually didn't cheat or hack stay on the leaderboards. I'm sorry to say but this online thing where everyone shares one world is the stupidest thing they've ever incorporated. I don't know how many people say they'd like to see this everyone shares one world thing be scrapped all together or have both.

New glitch this season - the seasonal danger sign keeps saying I’m off by 1 foot, despite having cleared 3 stars in a GT car multiple times. Best so far is almost 1,200 feet, more than 200 feet above the seasonal objective. Very frustrating

Yesterday I played The Eliminator and during final race I was 1st in level 10 car. It was still around 2-3km to go and everything just stopped. I could see final screen that said that I finished 3rd.I must say I was little bit angry.

Yah it makes no sense. They just have to look at the leaderboards and then they'll know who's cheating/hacking and can ban this players. It doesn't seem that difficult for them to do.

I think i found a MASSIVE game breaking glitch. Okay, so this worked for me and i will explain it out in as much detail as i can describe: So in the middle of the animation of putting the top up in a McLaren 720 Spider, i decided i wanted to change cars for a drift zone. But i also realized that i hadnt checked the forzathon shop yet, so i checked the forzathon shop and bought the Audi R8 that was in there. Then I decided "eh, ill try the audi, lets see if the sound has changed." Upon getting in this car, it did not function at all, but this is where it gets really weird. If i turned on telemetry, the car would work. But if i turned off telemetry, i lost ALL functions of the car. Brakes, gas, steering, i couldnt even enter a house without being in the telemetry screen. But thats not all. I figured "maybe its a bug with this car, so i changed into a 1994 Nissan Silvia, and the same bug happened! No function except when in the telemetry screen. I had to restart my game, and this fixed it, but I dont know if this was a one in a billion thing or if this happened to anyone else. Try it guys! And reply to this comment maybe if it happens? I also use an xbox one x, if that could change any outcomes And yeah, i call it gamebreaking because it kept the game from working normally and required that i restart I sent you the clip over Xbox if that helps visualize the thing i am talking about

More than online, what qnnoys me most about the game are performance issues. Just bought an RTX 3060 and I have to play in high graphics settings due to massive fps drops. Maybe my processor is at its limit (Ryzen 5 3400G), but I'd like to believe it's an optimization issue

Well with that livery the person with the UI messup is probably banned for that livery I'm fine for the most part because I use touhou, Doki Doki Literature Club and Miku liveries, the stuff that falls between videogame lines

Your other video showing 4 wheel steering with e.g. the GT-R, it does work, but I changed the tires and thicken the back ones, now the 4 wheel steering does not work anymore. Does it only work in Stock mode? Eliminator is also bugged - see like 50 people remaining, but you only see like 4 or 5 other players most of the time... The car drops in Eliminator is also bugged - sometimes going to a car drop to get another car, the drone just goes up in the air and the purple smoke vanish, as if someone has claimed the car in Eliminator - but there is no one that did. Happens quite often. Also on Multiplayer - have also seen people flying. And someone which is clearly last, coming first all of a sudden while not even passing me.

Great video Eric, earned a subscriber. I hope they fix online soon. We played after the update and everyone still dissapears. Its shocking they released a game so broken. 1000 forzathon points won't help me with enjoying a broken multi-player system. IMO, if they ban an actual cheater then they should really start cleaning up the leader boards. A few annoying things is in the seasonal events the speed zones keep saying I need 1 mph to complete the objective even though I've gone 30mph over the set limit. Also, when tuning cars when I apply the exhaust upgrade it actually makes the car quiet and dulls the sound of the camshaft upgrade I just applied? I can hear the cams with stock exhaust but applying the exhaust upgrade takes it away. Lol.

I’m still playing FH4 (because I don’t have an Xbox Game Pass yet), and I encountered a hacker for the first time. I still have the original clip saved (just not on my Xbox account) and what basically happened, was there was this one player who was on my team (the blue team). We were doing a Freeroam Rush. She/he made it, while I took a different route to get to the destination. By the time I crossed, the dude suddenly was on the red team. Literally, I stood there in silence; questioning what just happened.

i think if people will be cheating in a forza game, maybe pgg should invest in or create an anticheat for Forza Horizon 5. It may be complicated to achieve, but they should make it so that any lap time that's not physically possible will not be recorded on the servers and not placed on leaderboards as something simple. For races, the anticheat should detect any third party software messing with the game's files and code.

I found a glitch in eliminator. This will prevent you from challenging 1v1, being challenged 1v1, and switching cars, but will ensure your survival until the final showdown. (Sorry my dirty English,I am Japanese)

Regarding the cheaters, wouldn't be surprised at all if the growth in cheaters on FH4 was as a result of the game being made available on PC as opposed to staying as an Xbox exclusive like all of the Forza games before it. I'm not defending it at all because it ruins any competition and in general it just messes up the experience for people who want to play properly, but I know that it's easier to get into cheating on PC than it is on consoles. Still a shame about multiplayer though, I know that Bugbear the developers of Wreckfest kept having to blacklist cheated top times on their tournament time trials.

I don't think it was the PC that caused it but specifically the release on Steam. There were a few infrequent hackers when it was only on the Microsoft store/game pass but they multiplied massively not long after the Steam release.

Many of the Rivals leaderboard times and PR Stunts aren't actually "cheated" but rather use exploits anyone can do to achieve those times. For Rivals for example if you create a Route that is really short and drive it you used to be able to post that time to the actual real race Rival leaderboard even tho it was a totally different race which is how many people achieved such times. PR Stunts can kinda be broken aswell. For Trailblazers you can drive through the finish line (without the Trailblazer being activated so you have to know exactly where it is) then go to the start. Now you drive through the flags and start the event and instantly rewind back to the end and continue thus completing the trailblazer in an ungodly amount of time (like 1 or 2 seconds). This reqind also kinda works for Speed Zones where if you rewind after activating it to the other end of it you are for some reason at like 2-3k mph. Altough these insanely high speeds don't show on the eaderboards it's still quite funny

I love rivals but I'm avoiding it in FH5 because of the leaderboard cheaters. Playground need to get on top of it. I'm also a bit disappointed that there isn't much sense of progression once the festival tasks are completed each week. There needs to be more reasons to play.

With the Jaguar XJR-15 the lognuts change coulor, when stationary they're blue, while the wheels are spinning they're red. At least that's the case in my version (pc).

Thank god i haven't found a hacker on Online yet, also 2 more things, i guess the brake calappers of the trail cat or the Ford bronco are visibled on a Chase cam were others you can't see it and the RS button on Eliminator sometimes doesn't work, i think the players will have to press it at the same time.

For the barnyards, I already got all mine and when I was on with my step brother a couple days ago, he collected a barn that I didn't but he didn't get the one by it that I've found. So maybe some people get a different barn or 2?

I am a bit late on this since i didn't know what to or how to tell it to people but I've discovered before the hotfix update i was doing the PR Stunt Expedition when my friend invited to join (we were in a voice chat) and so i though it would've been like the FH4 system where if you join a friend you gotta quit the race/missing you're doing and join their session but since the new server system is an MMO style the game forced me to join my friends convoy. Couple days late i checked the PR Stunt Expedition i was confused on why I'm in the number 1 and that's when I realized it counted my run even tho i didn't know it would. Not sure if many people knew this bug but had to share it and no i didn't cheat XD the server just forced me to join the session not knowing it would count on the leaderboard. Although if this bug is exploitable I'd imagine you can create like a 5 second track and run it and it would count on the leaderboard but I've never tried and won't

I found a glitch on jaguar xkr-s! When you paint the bonet in different colour, from outside view wents of the bonet is the same colour as the all bonet but from the cockpit view wents are different colour! The body colour to be exact! Would you showcase that in your future video?
