TRD is and was never only for toyota models developed/built in the US. TRD is the abbreviation for Toyota Racing Development, which started in Japan for JDM sports cars, ranging from the Supra, to the Celica, MR2 & Levin/Trueno models; it is the 'old school' racing/performance subsidiary of Toyota, which goes all the way back to the 80's strait through the 90's and 'early' 2000's. They focused on the development of racing engines and all performance parts Toyota related for the racing teams & sports models for the average consumer (basically what GR does today). GR (Gazoo Racing) is simply the 'new' division (and dear i say, rebranded) which commenced in 2007. TRD still exists as a different department, but TRD Japan and TRD US are completely different. TRD US predominantly caters to modified/modifying trucks and SUV vehicles in the USA. TRD Japan on the otherhand offers way more parts for a broader range of vehicles (including a lot of cars of course), though they aren't making parts for engine performance anymore; you'll more get suspension set-ups and exhaust etc. nowadays from TRD Japan. As time progresses, Toyota will continue to re-lable TRD parts as GR. So this is the history and difference between the two.

6:05 The "wide body kit" is literally just glorified fender flares with an optional lip spoiler for the back, so it makes sense to me. Most actual full-on wide body kits include new/replacement front and rear bumpers, complete fender replacements, as well as optional wings, diffusers, and splitters, which is why they're more expensive.

TRD has been in NASCAR for almost 20 years. They also were huge on the Celica back in the day. TRD isn't just for offroading in the Baja. They've won Daytona, Indianapolis, and so much more. NASCAR actually raced the TRD version of the Camry in 2022 and 2023, as well. ....I also own an 2020 Camry TRD and love it to death!

In 2017 Toyota give us The Camry TRD with a 3.5L V6 and 300 hp but without a turbocharged or awd . But Toyota ditch the manual gearbox in the Camry in 2011 👍. The thing that drives me up the wall with this game is the entirety of the festival playlist. I don't personally have a lot of time to play these games and I don't want to spend real money to get digital cars. What pisses me off is that these cars are COMPLETELY unobtainable after the festival playlist passes. If you're lucky, they get added to the autoshow and then everybody who unlocked them manually gets mad because they put time into it that they didn't need to. Why should I have to wait for Horizon 6 to get cars from Horizon 5 that I was unlucky enough to not be around to unlock when they were in the playlist? Either put them in the autoshow, allow us to unlock them in barns, or do something to allow them to be unlocked after the playlist expires. And for those of you saying "Use the auction house", it's a miracle if you can even FIND one of these in the auction house, let alone find one not selling for multiple millions of credits. This game is ridiculous as of now, and that combined with my lack of free time is just why it's not worth playing anymore, and I really wish more people felt that way.
