I think going about uning the cars backwards is the play. Tune the cars for 258mph max speed and no more and that will get you a better chance for getting the 1/4 mile time.

I've been thinking whether not I should bring this up but you know how the stock 4 speed in the game is not tunable and slow well what if you used the drift transmission for racing I don't know how far you would be able to extend your gears but I think it would make a class cars and below faster by allowing you more pi to work with
