The best part is the story about the first (and only car drop): As I neared the end of this journey, I found myself going back to the tutelage of the OG Eliminator influencer, t3hbar0n. I started nearly every Eliminator session at Horizon Wilds, or west of Horizon Baja, every single time for the last 200 games or so. In this particular game, I spawned at the starting point for the Gran Pantano Sprint, where conceivably there are four car drops in one field of vision. Nothing. Nada. Drove eastward on the road, and as I got to the house Buena Esperanza, there she was. In all of her golden glory. A Level 10 car drop for the RS200. 10 seconds into the game. She never left my side, winning three H2Hs against a Tsuru, then a P4 Ferrari, then an Escort Cosworth Group A - and I must say that I absolutely smoked that thing in perhaps my most perfect high-speed H2H race win of all time.
But why the singular version of "friend", you may ask? So to be fair, I have only one subscriber on this new channel. Jason / aepoc66, thanks for indulging me. When, back in March, I told myself I was done with it all - when the wins were very few and far between, and when the trees and immovable buildings seemed everywhere - I deleted everything. 200 subscribers and hundreds of videos. Gone in a relative instant. Yet the tension had been building over time prior to that. It was time to let go.
But I couldn't. I was at about 439 wins with a goal of 500. And going back to the competitive days of NCAA soccer, I HAD to finish it. Well, I finally TCB'd this thing. It was nerve-wracking, and thankfully, no one else took a good route. I had some dang good wins over those last 60 or so, and I may upload them for fun.
Now what? Well, yesterday, they announced that FH4 was being delisted on December 25, 2024. So I've decided to go for 1,000 there. Currently at 513 or something like that. We shall see.
Thanks again, Jason. Keep at it with those tutorials!
