The F8 and SF90 came out at similar times, and the F8 was seemingly, absolutely, left in the SF90’s shadow. Plus, while the 458 and 488 got 6 years of production each, production for the F8 just ended after 3 years. I could say that I like the F8 out of spite, but no, I legit really love the F8 Tributo. We may never get a pure V8 supercar from Ferrari again, turbocharged or not. They’ll probably be hybrid-V8 hypercars like the SF90 is. There is a reason the F8 is called “Tributo” after all: it’s a tribute to Ferrari V8 supercars like the 360 and 458, the likes of which we may never see from Ferrari ever again after the F8.

Yeah it really is a shame, I loved the V8 Ferraris personally because of the racecars in GT3 & GTE categories. The fact that they're using the 296 for the next GT3 to replace the 488 next year just proves further that the F8 may be the last V8 Ferrari for a very long time. (They kept using the 488 in racing even after the F8 came out and the GT3 car even got an Evo version in 2020, its outlived the road version by quite a bit. The 488 GT3 & GTE cars are still performing well now after the GT3 became the most successful Ferrari racecar ever earlier this year)

I couldn’t disagree more. The f8 is a way more special car than the 488. The 488 as a platform was rubbish, I was told this from current Ferrari owners irl. The same gentleman who I talked to about that told me how much the f8 improved from the 488. However the 458 is still king.

While everyone might have their own opinions over the F8, my belief for why the 488 is typically disliked compared to both its predecessor and successor is because at that point the 488 was designed in house by Ferrari themselves while cars like the 458, F12, and the FF were designed by Pininfarina. The 488 in terms of design was very much a washed over redesign of the successful 458.

McLarens are still great, but it feels a little lacking in terms of drama and passion that Ferrari can offer, even if the car isn't that brilliant. Tune it properly, without silly aero’s. Stock drivetrain is rear wheel drive and it outperforms most Ferraris there is. It drives as a Ferrari should and is an homage to the 458, but it drives better. This guy slaps on forza aero and all wheel drive then says he don’t like the car!! 🤦
