Forza Motorsport 7 pit stops are so lazy

The same lazy job from Turn 10 as their previous games. The F1 series, Project CARS 2, Nascar series etc. have full animated pit stops which generate excitement and immersion but in Forza Motorsport we get this...

(People have pointed out that the mechanics don't change the tyres in PC2. That's because it was only lap 2 and I hadn't asked for new tyres. There is a better PC2 pit stop in the video below. I just point this out in the interests of fairness to PC2.)

This is something that angers me with game trailers. 'In game footage' doesn't mean 'gameplay footage'. That may just be a cutscene or opening cinematic, not actual gameplay, that the developers used to make the game look more immersive than it is. Developers will deliberately try to make potential customers confuse the two. Idk if thats what happened in this specific circumstance, but it still deceptive

Imraan Omar Forza has terrible AI as well. It brakes very early, or in the middle of corners, or on straights. If you turn the difficulty up, the AI don't become better drivers, they just get a cheating speed boost, so they still drive like granny round corners, but turn the 'nitrous' on to boost away from you on straights even though their car is meant to be in the same class. They ram you out of the way if you're on the line they want to use. The AI in this game is like a placeholder for real AI, they never really bothered to develop it properly.

7 actually improved more so than recent games. 7 implemented many new features. I think they intended on adding animated pit crews but just ran out of time. I think creating a full on dynamic weather and track system took up more time than expected.

So, let me get this straight: 1) the games AI is total garbage; it literally can't drive around you if you stop in front of it, as if it's on some sort of rail. 2) the amazing cloud tech and dynamic weather are total bullshit; the clouds literally stop moving if you do (they're apparently on a rail too), and the "dynamic" weather almost never happens and only on certain tracks. 3) The game itself doesn't look that impressive. Most of those 700 cars are 360-era models, the cars look like overly polished plastic toys, and the tracks and environment look like cardboard cutouts. 4) now this put bullshit, after they clearly claimed, and even showed, otherwise. This is the game that's getting all these 9's and 10's, and has a cult of grown ass men stalking and harassing people about it across social media about it? This is pathetic. I've been playing Forza since FM2 and I think FM7 is a joke. If I had to describe this game in one word it would be lazy. Everything you said is true. Another one is when you're driving the 2017 Ford raptor the front wheels don't turn when you steer. The wheels stay perfectly straight when you're turning. Another thing that I don't understand is why they put offroad vehicles in this game? There are no offroad tracks. Yet they don't put in cars like the Supra for example. Alot of things about this game make no sense to me.

Instead of actually improving the series (FOV changer, more race feeling, qualifying, penalty system etc.) they gave us lootboxes, stupid homologation system, no classic rivals and fucked VIP buyer. On top of this hilarious comparison video of marketing to actual gameplay, if you pay close attention, drivatars that pit behind you complete the change instantly and hop right back on the track at full speed. I guess the budget only allowed for outsourcing driver animations and costumes in the menus only. The QA team clearly didn't bother monitoring pit behavior.

I think this has to do something about Forzas ”deal” with different carbrands. I remember that FH3 has all humans behind barriers so you cant run them over etc. Thats also why GTA doesnt have real car brands but copy them.

It does. It has something to do with the fact car manufacturs don't wanna be involved in "killings" in game because it puts them at a bad reputation why they would allow it or something like that. And that's also why GTA has replicas of cars because you can run people over with the cars because theyre fake. :)

It is easy to prevent players from running over pit crew and there are various ways of achieving this, the most obvious one being for the computer to take over driving while you're in the pit lane. Yes, I know manufacturers don't want their virtual cars being used to kill people in games, obviously. But that is NOT why Forza doesn't have pit crews. Please think.

I have FM7 and one of the very magical things are the pit stop, it recovers by it self, they need to make FM8 pit stops a bit more realistic
