Great vid, just got this watch as my first smartwatch. I really like how you broke everything down in your style of going over the watch. Extra points for mentioning the band, as someone who commonly has to get extra links for bands it's much appreciated lol.

Great review Karl! I, too, just got my Carlyle and have had it for a few days. I absolutely love it! I've had no issues with speaker problems others have complained about, the battery life is all I need throughout my day, and it works great with all of my Google devices (Pixel 2 phone, Google Nest Smart Home). I even get pictures with my Nest camera notifications! Texts, phone calls, work with no glitches, Awesome watch! Wear OS has gotten a bad wrap over the internet, but it is truly the best Android smartwatch out there for what I I use it for.

Thanks Karl! I just got my Matrix Power Watch that was crowd funded. Still getting use to it though I love the fact that I never need to charge it as it's powered by my body heat as well as solar (new feature).

I had to look up that watch, but it looks pretty cool. Especially the battery being charged by you. It's one step closer to the Matrix, watch out. (pun intended)

Gr8 review, I returned 4 smart watches b4 I settled with this, Samsung galaxy or active 2 did not want to function with my oneplus 7 phone neither did vivoactive 3, the 4th was just a cheap smart watch which I kept returning to. Love my fossil gen 5 now, battery is good if u keep it in extended mode until you need to exercise otherwise it misses off the gps. I removed 2 links at 1st I’m a big guy too lol. But it was too tight so repacked one link and adjusted strap by the fastener to make it a little smaller as my wrist is between sizes,I found the strap(same as yours)a little heavy at 1st but after a couple of days I’m used to it. Also amazed how fast it charges up,and new update measures sleep and heart rate though night not effecting battery.so I use it to sleep track too. I generally charge it while I’m having a bath or for a while when I’m getting dressed in the morning as it charges amazingly fast.

Great review Sir. I'm really liking this watch. Iv had two samsungs and an apple 4 44mm. Got my eye on the 44mm Carlyle smoke metal. I just like the call feature and step counter features most, plus the Google assistant. Looking forward to getting this watch. Thanks for the xcellant review, it really helped. Subscribed.

I've always liked Fossil watches (had lots over the years) & I like Wear OS watches (currently got a Huawei Watch 2) so this is good option for me as it looks class. I've also got a Galaxy S3 Frontier which I can recommend, the rotating bezel is a great interface, it's just frustrating that the app store for the watch is lacking

Yeah I have heard of good things from the Huawei Watches. I wish they would bring the rotating bezels to more watches. I think that is a slick way to navigate.

Great video Karl! Although I'm an iPhone guy, (go team Craig) I still appreciate your excellent review! I do love that watch but I suppose I'll just have to covet yours from afar..... for now.... until Apple comes up with something not as ugly as their current smart watch offering!

You can always come back and watch this repeatedly. My biggest complaint about the Apple Watch is the shape. I like the simple style of my watch. People have to do a double take to see if its a smart watch.
