This theme is woefully generic compared to the previous final boss pieces, but at least it's suitably menacing. That's the sad part of upgrading the samples; low-quality DS midis at least forced people to be creative. It's got some good melodies, but they don't always fit together. That said, they still haven't topped Dynal's battle theme, so I don't blame them for going the generic-yet-awesome route. Dreadraven's actual design, though, is absolutely perfect. The gross pulsating flesh, glowing eyes, metal sheets, throat-eye-orifice thing, _Blackraven's face in its belly..._ Terrifying and eldritch in all the right ways; a fantastic final boss.

XerxesTexasToast I personally think this is one of the best-written overall boss themes in the games, in terms of length and instrumentation. Though I can say the boss himself was a bit shallow and cliche compared to the previous ones. Zongazonga’s theme had a perfect beginning, but seemed a tad bit generic after that. Dynal’s theme would have been BEYOND perfect if it weren’t limited to the old DS hardware... (really hoping for a professional remaster one day, that would be downright epic) And I agree. Dreadraven’s design is rightfully awesome and creepy. Dreadsaurus was cool too, reminded me of a dragon in appearance. Especially when you see how flipping huge they are compared to your Vivosaurs... step aside legendary Pokémon. XD

This isn't Guhnash-levels of epicness, but it's still good. Almost feels like some ancient, violent force has been unleashed, and you're doing everything you can to stop it. Which is kind of what happens when you fight Dreadraven. Note: Did you guys notice that when he transforms, the Bone Buggy parts fuse with Blackraven? (hence the gold metallic parts on him)

Honestly, Dreadraven’s transformation methods remind me a lot of Rockwell from the game Ark. Both are pretty darn creepy, especially Dreadraven for being in a more kid friendly game. Though plot-wise, he was a pretty poor boss. There was the Dinaurians, fighting for the well-being of their species and deciding what is morally right or wrong; then summoning the same fate that befell them for their mistakes. Then their was Zongazonga, who threw some pretty shocking plot twists (at least, for 12 year old me) into the story and causing you to question the very characters who were on your side. Then Dreadraven. Too cliche. And he’s pretty much a one-way boss; there’s no real earlier bosses with separate goals to keep the story building up, like the BB’s to Dynal to Guhnash, or Don Boneyard to Zongazonga. It’s just one baddie, and a two henchmen helping out. Don’t get me wrong, Frontier was good... as a separate game from the first two. It doesn’t retain the same charm of the others, mechanics-wise it’s pretty flawed (if there weren’t Paleo Pals I may have loved the game), and much of the fandom agrees...

I remember I kept getting SO CLOSE to finishing off this guy, with maybe 50 LP left. After a bit of level grinding though, my team was pretty efficient. Used Sean with Nychus and Becky with Allo, and my own Stego, named Zephyr. Nychus grabs the first attack, Allo gets it into a weak stance, Stego deals good damage and confusion (spamming Panic Spike ftw). Then Nychus could hit an epic combo with an attack, boost, and speedster bonus in one go, with Dreadraven in a weak stance. I also partially chose them because those three Vivosaurs are some of my favorite redesigns/remasters in Frontier. ‘^^

Title: FFA Fossil Fighters AcesLocation: Vivosaur island and caliosteo IslandTakes Place: One year after the battle of GuhnashYou play the role of: The fighters of the first gameYour friends: The original Fossil Fighters crew Rosie, Holt, Richmond, Diggins, Duna, Dynal, Raptin, etc then later on in the story you meet the male or female protagonist of the second game (gender of character of second game made by a early game decision) and Rupert, Todd, Pauline, y'know the normal guys then you team up and fight with them in the game.Fighting arrangement: Same exact as the old game though a new way of fighting was added in that you may achieve, what this will allow you to do is form a group of as many NPC's that you meet throughout the story and you have these NPC's join your group by either fighting them a certain number of times or carrying out a task for them if you successfully carry out this task or fight them and win said number of times they will join your team now you can take only two to walk around and follow you and haven't them stop following you whenever you feel the need to be alone. In battle what your two buddies will do is they will take their number of Vivosaurs that they own ranging from a number of 1 - 3 like the old game and will throw theirs down on the battlefield alongside yours what these Vivosaurs can do is help you by having their Vivosaurs unable to battle but the support effects that are on their Vivosaurs will be active and finally when a Vivosaur dies you can choose from one of each AI to take a Vivosaur from and use it JUST FOR THAT BATTLE (you will not keep the Dino medal) now when you choose to take a Vivosaur from a friend the other two from that person will leave the battlefield and the one will be fighting with you under the control of the AI sorta like Fronteir as far as fossil fighting goes. Once you take one Vivosaur from a friend that's the only one you can take and that's that if you win you win if you lose you lose.The ending: Well the ending That's for you to figure out Red Entertainment just make it a good surprising ending just like the ending of the first game but better. cheiftainvulpix I prefer Liu Ren's Tarbo and Becky's Big Allo myself, for that's who I used to beat Dreadraven. I controlled a Sauroposeidon, one of the AR dinos, alongside them, who was already at Rank 30 when I fought him, actually, Tarbo and Big Allo were Rank 30 as well! I lost the first time I encountered Dreadraven, but won the second time. He caught me off guard because I was expecting something akin to Zongazonga for a final boss fight. :/

theres a specific vivosaur thats better than nibbles that always does over 200+ damage each turn, and has alot of hp. forgot the name though. it did poison damage too so thats an extra 100 damage. so in total, 300+ damage or more, depending what rank its in (mine was maxed)

The first two games were great, and this game was...alright. Just underwhelming in my opinion (I’ve read Fanfiction that made the storyline more interesting to say the least.) Dynal had the presence, Zongazonga had intimidation, but Dreadraven was downright terrifying. And mind you, this game was aimed mainly for kids.

Nope, I refuse to believe Zinodious and Gorgostroika are different genders but the same species, I prefer to interpret them as their own two separate species, and they're both solely male, partially because the transformation they undergo causes immense changes to their chromosomal builds. I also theorize they lose their ways of reproduction. They both still have sex organs that work, I would assume, but they cannot release sperm to create an egg, nor can they lay their own eggs. So the only way their species' could grow is if more Zinos and Gorgos ingest or absorb dark energy. That, by itself, interprets why they should be different species and why I treat them like that.

Not only for parting blow, all of his attacks fill boost, has scare and poison skills and if you don't have a vivosaur with poison skills and one that puts him in a bad stamce you are going to have trouble.

You're making a brave move comparing Fossil Fighters to Pokémon, the difference is that we know Pokémon X and Y were the start of the decline of Pokémon game quality, Pokémon Black and White, as well as their sequels and predecessors, were absolutely perfect, especially when it came to OSTs, writing, and characters, it's just that stans of X,Y, and all of the games afterward constantly refuse to acknowledge the fact that those were the good games. The deal with Frontier, however, is that people know it's good (all while having it's flaws), it's just that stans of the original games keep saying it is bad and all the previous games are oh so perfect (Yes they are great), but they have to acknowledge that Fossil Fighters is evolving, it can't just stay the same forever. Yes, Pokémon couldn't stay the same forever either, but it was better when the games were all sprited.

@@montygator6921 considering this comment was 4 years ago, i think the decline has become far more apparent *now* than it was at the time. my point still stands, people can't stop comparing new to old. i understand there are times where that's justified [now, i fully acknowledge that both XY and FFC were honestly quite bad], but people can't seem to let go, either. however, now, i'd argue that they're incomparable, because FFC downright killed off the franchise [we haven't had content in who knows how long, best we got was an acknowledgement in smash] whereas XY confirmed that TPC is allowed to make risky decisions and get away with it, because people blindly purchase. i'm not really sure what your point is. people hated XY, absolutely love BW/B2W2 now. however, i've noticed, people are starting to really like XY now too for whatever reason. pokemon fans can't decide what they actually like and dislike in a video game, and every time they try to have a coherent thought, they give up and go back to licking gamefreak's/TPC's boots while still LARPing that they actually care about the franchise and its quality. for the record, gen 5 wasn't even remotely perfect. i played the game with a fresh adult mind and found them to be boring like every other pokemon game. fun postgame activities, some of the characters are pleasing, but that's about it. if you want *good* pokemon games, check out the mystery dungeon series. especially explorers of sky.

@@montygator6921 i disagree! digimon and yo-kai watch are doing great, their games are still plenty fun [though digimon is rough around the edges, and yo-kai watch no longer exists in the west] and digimon's anime is still going strong. the problem is pokemon itself creating what almost seems like a monopoly on the genre, creating an expectation for what a monster-catching game should be. it's why all monster-catching indie games are so bland, they just want to be pokemon. because pokemon has such a massive influence that it does worldwide, especially in the west, it stomps out other games and makes it difficult for them to flourish, which is why yo-kai watch can't exist in the west anymore, their english branch went bankrupt.

WHY DOES IS ITS BOSS THEME SUCK. WHY DOES IT HAVE SO MUCH HEALTH. WHY ARE MOST OF THE VIVOSAURS SUB-PAR. WHY DOES IT HAVE VEHICLES. WHY DO YOU NOT HAVE THE SAME BATTLE FORMAT AS THE FIRST TWO GAMES. WHY IS NOTHING LIKE THE FIRST TWO GAMES. WHY IS THERE LESS VIVOSAURS THAN THE ORIGINAL. WHERE DID MOST OF THE COOL STUFF LIKE ZONGAZONGA AND DYNAL GO? WHY IS THERE A PARTNER SYSTEM. WHY DOES NO ONE PLAY ONLINE MULTIPLAYER WHY IS THIS THE FOSSIL FIGHTERS VERSION OF BANJO KAZOOIE NUTS AND BOLTS? WHY DID I TRY LIKING THIS GAME? WHY IS IT SO BAD COMPARED TO THE FIRST TWO? WHY IS THE STORY SO SHORT? WHY DO MOST OF THE PARTNERS SUCK? WHY IS EVERYTHING LOOK LIKE AN ANIME? WHY ISN'T THERE AN ANIME FOR IT? WHY DID I BUY IT? WHY DIDN'T I CARE. Just a few thoughts after replaying the game on my save file a few weeks ago. This is all just my opinion.

It's A Real Shame. Comparing it to Nuts And Bolts is going too far. The Two are similar, but N&B was Actually Pretty Good While Frontier Was Crap That I Played Through TWICE.

MarioWorlder123 I really miss running around, super vivosaurs, nobody frickin play online like the old one use to and some of their redesigns are weird and I miss having ny own team instead of that limited "partner" thing I just flat out stop playing after beating the game :/

I would've liked this theme more, but they used it at the LITERAL START OF THE FUCKIN' GAME, so needless to say it lost its impact on me.

If i have to be honest with you, i'd safely state that that's not an issue at all, as it slips right past your head there, especially considering how short it plays for before being cutted off. You will have completely forgotten about it by the time you get into the game. Want a proof of that? I have played many times the game from the start, and even here with you telling me that, i don't remember *_at all_* that it played there. At best, i remember the theme's intro playing, and just that, nothing past it. That's why nobody even mentions that, that's why it's so praised and special.
