Seen you on Mappleton beach a few times in the past, now I know who's making that noise! Lol. Great vids

Been waiting for this! I must admit your videos have gotten me so interested in fossils I've looked up nearby accessible places for me to go hunting (I'm disabled so it's a bit awkward) and am planning to go either tomorrow or next week! I really needed an outdoor hobby and luckily there's a nearby area where the best fossil hunting spot is a nice flat stream area :D So thankful for your videos, I really am ^_^

Please you like our efforts and hope you can find places to access. Even with a few finds its nice just to be out and appreciate nature. Join us on Facebook and post your finds. Good luck

Awesome collection! Could you make a video about how you prepare the fossils? I have a few fossils at home that could use some prepping but I don't really know what's the best way to do it.

Will have to get round to it at some point, but have seen some good videos on KZbin for prepping stuff

Thanks for showing that bit of your collection! Very jealous.

Thanks Rian. I have some nice pieces but know many people with a lot better finds than mine. Don't be jealous just be happy with the things you have and not sad for the things you don't :)

Love your collection! I'd also love to see some prep or before and after videos. There is something immensely satisfying in watching someone else prep up a fossil. I think it's because I am so impatient!

@@fossiladventures2926 yes, that's one of my fave that you've done! Did you ever find a piece of matching rock to put balance the matrix out?

@@thelittlecabinetofcuriosit761 no not yet. On our last visit it was far too wet to climb the cliff to get to the band where these ammonites are found. I am in no rush, it will be a easy fix once I get a pierce and it will finish it of

Love this video! How do you tell the difference between bone and calcite/wood? I'm having a hard time right now.
@fossiladventures29266 жыл бұрын
Its all to do with the structure. Wood looks mostly still like wood. Reptile bone has a very distinct structure, once you've found a piece its easy to find again and again fish bone has a distinct different texture and colour. Same for calcite. Hope this helps a bit? Post on our Facebook page and I can post some examples, bit hard to get in close with the camera.
