Finds were a little bit slow but the vert made up for it ⚒

The drone footage improves your videos so much 👍🏻 Really like them 😃 And the vertebra is awesome 🤠
@Treasurehunter110013 жыл бұрын
Thanks the drone is such a good tool to show the scenery of the location better than just a camera on the ground, really enjoying learning to use it , I will be keeping to this kind of theme , there will be two more videos like this from yorkshire beaches , I have the footage but won't get to make them for a couple of weeks , thanks for always watching and commenting

I guess it'll be clear by now, but the bone you found in the nodule - indeed, what are the odds! - is that of an ichthyosaur vertebra. It might be a bit tricky to prepare out of the nodule, as the bone is probably harder than the bone and there doesn't seem to be a lot of separation between the bone and its matrix. But awesome find, all the same! :D

Glad it's noticeable spent a lot of money the past few months on a camera , computer and drone , I guess this is my main hobby now lol 😆

Defo a vert cross section mate, if you send that away to be prepared they will glue it and prep it from the top down and it’ll look good. Loooks complete! Btw I don’t know if your still making a decision or not but ravenscar is great! Been there a few times and it’s very interesting, also seals everywhere!
@Treasurehunter110013 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ethan some more of the rock fell away from round the vert but it looks like it is just kind of 2d or compressed or something looks cool though. I did go to Ravenscar

The shipwreck looked really cool I was nervous when the cliff fell though
@Treasurehunter110013 жыл бұрын
Yeah it was a different perspective on the shipwreck , luckily I was far enough away from the cliff , it just gave me a bit of a jump

Ravenscar great big cliff 500ft down I think and plenty of seal's. Going to sandsend to do some more filming myself.
@Treasurehunter110013 жыл бұрын
Good luck at Sandsend, I did go to Ravenscar got some nice scenery shots. And some footage of the seals from above but aftwards read a sign that said no drones over the seals so I guess I better not use that footage 🤔

Congratulations on your vertebrae 💪🤩 Love those chambers on the broken calcite ammos, sometimes I’m more happy with a broken ammo than a goodun because you get to see the hidden treasures inside 🤩 Did you take many of the broken ammos? They would cut and polish beautifully... Music was great, I was worried when you said chilled but it had a great beat
@Treasurehunter110013 жыл бұрын
Hi Jim sorry for the late reply , I did take the ammonite in the thumbnail as I am thinking of doing something with that, I should of taken that other big broken one I guess that would look great cut and polished .
@WightFossilTours3 жыл бұрын
@@Treasurehunter11001 no worries, I’m not always good at replying, gotta have some time off the phone! 😉 That broken one is lovely, maybe next time save a couple and give the polishing a go 💪😉
@Treasurehunter110013 жыл бұрын
Yeah I might start saving more of them and have a go at that
@WightFossilTours3 жыл бұрын
@@Treasurehunter11001 it’s great fun and very rewarding.. To get them flat and ready for polishing I use an angle grinder with a diamond disc 💪😎
@Treasurehunter110013 жыл бұрын
I will probably have to get a proper grinder I have like a amazon version of a dremel and those stone bits but would probably take a very long time to get it flat 🤣
