I knew of Cami-Cat’s naturally deep rapping voice in HalaCG’s Ladies of Anime cypher, so I expected something like that, but I’m genuinely impressed that the second half of her Carracosta verse depicted two different tones layered over each other, and I firmly believe both are from her. Edit: I’ve since learned that in the second half, one vocal track is from Cami-Cat and the other is from Cam Steady.

Ok, why is nobody talking about the absolute lyrical genius of Kevin? “All over TOO (homonym for two” late to be saved” “Only ONE PLUS a gruesome way to go” “On the ROUTE (homonym for root) 5 that’s a Golden Ratio” So the golden ratio is basically an irrational number that pops up a lot in nature, in flowers, trees…and ammonite shells. In fact, it’s most famously in ammonite shells, like Omastar’s. And what is the ratio? One plus the square root of five all over two. That’s my new favourite few lines in any cypher ever. I absolutely cannot get over how good some of the tie ins to the games this cypher has. Probably the best yet in that regard as well as others, with obvious recognition to Zach B for making a whole verse out of the most infamous ability, but also I need to point out Cami and Frost ESPECIALLY for cami's lines "Swift when I swim, Sturdier when I stand" and Frost's "Double" scheme. "Swift when I swim, Sturdier when I stand, a master of the Water with mastery over Land" Carracosta is a dual Water-Rock type and has Sturdy as one of its two normal abilities alongside Solid Rock, and Swift Swim as its hidden ability. The former is rooted in its rock typing and the latter in its water typing,. representing its amphibious nature...and all of that is seamlessly worked into one line that is without question my favorite standalone line of the entire cypher. and then with Frost "Double the damage, my Avalanche move last // Double your cash for the bird and the lizard // Double my stats in the hail while you shiver // Doubly stacked like a cup full of sizzurp // No Double for that when I hit you with the Blizzard" Double Damage: Avalanche is a move where you go after your opponent that turn, and if your opoonent damages you before you deal twice the damage. Double Cash: Amulet Coin is an item a pokemon can hold that doubles the prize money if you win, and the whole Double scheme is a play on Arctozolt being two different mons hybridized Double Stats: Hail/Snow is a weather condition that doubles the Defense stat of all Ice-type pokemon Double Stack: Slush Rush, Arctozolt's hidden ability, lets it double up on the bonus from Hail by doubling its Speed as well its defense No Double for that: Blizzard is a move that if used in a 2v2, aka a Double Battle, it will hit BOTH enemies. This entire cypher was honest to god peak

@@FranciscoEvans-i3e Aurorus is my favorite Fossil Pokémon, contrary to what you said, and I’m glad my favorite fossil has the best verse; the way Chi-Chi distributed her singing and rapping and work with the provided beat and write relevant lyrics/references really hits home that verse being a 13/10. (By the way, side note, Trickywi had a much better Diantha verse (which is also heavily underrated if you ask me and has a good successor in this cypher in Keetheweeb’s Cradily verse) than Chi-Chi, and the latter’s my least-favorite verse of the Masters 8 cypher). McGwire and isthatfr0st surprisingly had good to their verses; the latter’s is slightly better due to its second half, but analyzing these two surprisingly made me like them more than I initially anticipated.

I mean, it's based on a Trilobite, those little sea bugs which were just Horseshoe crabs slightly cooler cousins, but someone at gamefreak decided "nah, this thing needs to be like 6 feet tall and have DEATH SCYTHES for arms" It WAS based on a trilobite right? Apparently via Bulbapedia, Kabutops is based on what is known as an Eurypterid. Looking at the fossil, it looks like it has giant claw scythes, but that's about the only notable thing. Other than that it's pretty basic

There are some sea scorpion types like _Megalograptus_ that had kinda similar scythe-like pincers instead of claws. My guess is that Kabutops is sort of a mashup of trilobite, horseshoe crab and sea scorpion instead of being based on one single thing

The point is Kabutops is an amalgamation of several Chelicerates which include Eurypterids, Horseshoe Crabs and modern day Arachnids. In order to qualify as a Trilobite, Kabuto would need several lines that go across its body like modern day Isopods, but Trilobites were not Chelicerates
