Fossil Prep Tips | Engraver (Dremel 290)

How to prep fossils for beginners using an electric engraver (Dremel 290) fitted with Tungsten tips from Zoic PalaeoTech.
The engraver makes short work prepping this Yorkshire Dac (Dactylioceras)
This isn’t the greatest prep with this sticky pyritic limestone, I nearly deleted the video 😬
But I wanted to show you that not every time a fossil comes out perfect
So please give it a go and don’t be disheartened if it isn’t perfect as it happens to the best of us and it’s all part of the learning curve

great video thanks for sharing :) i use the Dremel 290 as well... it's a great tool for beginners ... i love it... you get good preps or the ones that get thrown out haha... ive had a few

What kind of stylus did you use please? Do the styli have to be special? Do you have to sharpen the styli once a while? Thanks!
