I am using it with my iPhone 6s, the only problem I came across is that when it's put on charging, I'm not able to receive/disconnect the call even though I see the notification. Hi Kevin, recently I just had a new Android phone and I can say that the watch does work better with Android, even though I have a Moto 360 not Fossil, but they both are Android smart watch anyway, work kinda exactly same. My Moto supports much more apps when I connect with Android phone compare to iPhone and more functions available for each app.

Diana O Right now iOS has a problem with installing apps on the Android Wear devices devices. That is one of the reasons why Android Wear 2.0 is coming out. It will give users the ability to install apps directly from the watch. This means iOS users will have access to all the Android Wear apps.

Kevin Breeze I bought the Marshal, but it's the black version. I really like this watch, especially when everyone thinks it's a regular watch. I have to tell, and show people that it's a smart watch. I can get two days from my Q Marshal. I did some other tests to stretch out battery life. If I turn off ambient mode, wifi, and turn on airplane mode. Also I turn it off when I got to bed. Then I could get 4 days out of this watch. At that point it's just a time piece, step counter, and not much else. Still it's a great smart watch. I installed a barcode app, that save my barcodes to the watch. So I can pay for things using this watch as well. Like buy coffees.

Thank you for the review Kevin However, have a couple of query: 1. Which all apps notification are configured by default - whatsapp, messenger (sms), skype for business, emails ? 2. Is it water resistant ? Fossil website say IP67, however, I cannot see any info/details behind the watch where it normally mentions if it is water resistant (reason to ask is - can this watch be worn during rainy season ?) I m planning to buy one and trying to decide between Moto360 G2 and Fossil Q Marshal - the reason I m more inclined towards Marshal is the steel strap which comes along as an option with the watch. Antonio Brasse why would you want to have the watch face fully on all the time? That makes no sense. However with that said you can design your own app to leave the watch on all the time. Plus you can make you own app adjust the brightness to full. You can even make your app stay on using ambient mode, which would make more sense and it would help to conserve energy as well.

4 or 5 more years and these things will be (becoming) well worth having/practically indispensable. Classic digital/analogue watches will be around like vinyl records and turntables. There will always be an appreciative consumer base for classic analogue timepieces. It will hinge mostly on battery improvement technologies and acceptable levels of ruggedness of design.

I agree. The watch has a nice elegant design that could be mistaken for a traditional watch that you could wear with a suit and tie. Unfortunately the black bezel (flat tyre) really takes away from the look.I want a smart watch that looks classy and will show notifications from my phone, and the marshal comes really close. They're hybrid designs actually look nicer but they only have the option of an analog display.

When I went to the Fossil Store, I asked the salesman the same question and he said that the Marshal and Wander are very similar spec-wise, but the Marshal is designed for men and the Wander is designed for women. That being said, the salesman also mentioned that in some configurations, the Wander could be worn by men without it appearing to be feminine. I think it really comes down to what style you prefer. Hope this helps! I might pick up a Wander to review soon.

Thanks man, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I personally like the Moto 360 2nd gen the most, but a lot of new smartwatches are going to be announced over the next couple of months. The Q Marshal is really nice though so I certainly recommend it. I think Fossil learned a lot from their first smartwatch, the Q Founder.

Good video and the watch looks like it's well made. However comparing it to say a Gear S2 from nearly 2 years ago it looks really chunky, also the flat tyre and the fact the screen doesn't fill the face again compared to the Gear S2 ruins the effect of it looking like a traditional analogue timepiece.

Thanks for the review. I wish I could say my experience with the Fossil Q Marshal was as positive. With gesture controls off, I can barely squeeze out 24 hours, and with this feature on and regular use I am looking at 16 or so hours - Not much better than my first generation Moto 360. How do you manage to get over a day of use? I think this watch is going back to the retailer and I will go with a Fossil Q Crewmaster hybrid instead.

I am not sure, as I returned my watch - It made no sense having an expensive Fossil smartwatch with a poor display and terrible battery life. The only suggestion I can make is for you to cut down on the amount of time the screen is on and to make sure WiFi is off.

Kevin Breeze Android Wear 2.0 has addressed that. When you scroll up and down the text moves in closer to the top and bottom of the display for round watches. Kind of like what Tizen does on their Gear watches.

The flat tire is much more pronounced on this watch as well as the Black band around the display. The SD2100 isn't any better than the Intel Atom 34xx in the Q Founder. About the only improvement was the speaker.
