I LOVE this bag. I have two: one in Heritage blue and another in the brown Croc print. This style is one of the best bag designs out there. That zipper opening is pure genius, I don't get how more brands don't do that regularly.

Helpful video! Fossil makes a great, lasting bag, and that brown looks better with regular use. I condition my camel Carlie with Coach leather cleaner and lotion, but most of the darker colors do just fine without pampering.

Hi, I've got several fossil bags, including this one. As much as I love the look of it, it's not the bag for me. I have the ferlicity satchel and ive used that most day's for two year's now and I will say the leather gets softer and softer over time they look better as they age, the linings are like a thin denim and really hard wearing also easy to spot things you need with a lighter lining . I think. Fossils customer service is brilliant. I had a wallet that started to tear, and they replaced it free of charge. I don't think you can go wrong with a fossil bag they are really well made.

I had sold my original Rachel and tried a Hailey but found I missed the 2 outside pockets so I re-purchased another Sydney and just moved back into it because you can see everything so nicely and also it opens WIDE. Neat to see it a couple years later. Actually looking forward to mine breaking in more. Nice review!

I have the same bag for about 4 years using it off and on and I love it. I can fit my planner, snavks, even my babys diapers, a couple of them and bottle

Thanks for the review. I was gifted this bag (the colourful print one, which I think is less sturdy than the leather) and while I love the look I find myself not using it because it's quite floppy and unstructured. Do you feel the need to fill it when using it every day so it has some shape?

I have a vintage Fossil bag that I used daily for years and cleans up like new. I abuse my bags somewhat so after all these years the inside zipper has derailed and I can’t seem to fix it so I’m trying to come up with something I can use the pocket for without closure. Maybe stitch it down into 2 cargo pockets??? Or stitch in magnets? I’m so attached to the bag I’ve got to come up with a plan.

is it just me who noticed that fossil bag quality has become bad lately? since they change their logo from rhombus to oval, you can tell the quality drop. I have fossil bags with the old logo and they are fantastic. had them for more than 8 years and still look good. meanwhile, I bought this crossbody bag with the new logo and it's so bad. I only use few times, not more than 5 times. yet it's peeling, and the leather is stiff too. almost feel like PU but it says genuine leather. so funny cuz leather should not peel. and I know they use lower-grade leather, probably mixed with synthetic. but damn so pathetic.. I had to sell that bag and keep the old ones

Mine peeled, too (handles, strap, pulls, and tabs. No issue on the main bag). My 2 friends also have the same issue with their Rachels so I checked online. I found out that the bag itself is real leather but the trimmings are made of PU.

Yes lots! I live in the pacific north west and it rains a lot here and I definitely still use it like normal in the rain! It hasn’t been soaked or anything but definitely rained on

The handles and strap on the Rachel are not leather - I believe they are made of polyurethane, as is the shoulder strap on the Sydney - that’s probably why you get areas of rubbing. It’s annoying and personally I’d rather pay a bit more and have an all leather bag! (I think the very first ones were all leather and then they downgraded)
