Ma'am we can solve partial fractions for proper rational function.But you have did that for improper rational function. For improper rational function we cannot apply partial fraction. In the numerator degree=4 And in denominator degree=3. So we have to apply long division method and after that we will get a proper rational function.And then we will apply partial fraction. It will be : 4s+(52s^2+64)/s(s^2+4)...on solving we get A=16 and B=36 I am saying for FOSTER 1 CASE ONLY ....and FOSTER 2 is correct because we already have proper rational function for Y(s)

Realized later; the 4 from denominator of LHS has to be part of denominator with A & B doing partial fractions. [my incompetent assumption earlier: at 16:14 shouldn't the 4 from denominator of LHS be multiplied to the Numerator of RHS, so should be 4(1/5 S), and 4(4/5 S) respectively for A & B?]

Yes, long division for polynomials can be done when both the powers of num and deno are same, or the power of num exceeds that of deno

As in the case of quadratic polynomial as this the case here(s^2+ a) then numerator will take the form of (A*s+B) rather A alone. So instead of A/(s^2+a) , (A*s+B) /((s^2+a) will come. Please comment on it mam

When denominator is s²+a, numerator can be As or As+B. Actually the case is , if your denominator is nth degree polynomial, the corresponding numerator must be ( n-1)th degree general polynomial

Yes I noticed. But the net value stays the same youbhave 4 elements. In three branches. I got 3 elements in two. It happens when there is a pole at origin.
Here while solving foster i form Power of numerator is greater than denomenator, that means improper fraction exists there. So we must make it proper at first first and then use the partial fraction, isn't is mam?

Resistor is R Inductor is L Capacitor is C In foster 1 we connect the components ( R or L or C) parallels.. and the blocks in series In foster 2 we connect the components (R or L or C)in series and the blocks in parallel
