FOSTER CARE: SIBLINGS - Should You Take Them?

Sibling Groups are one of the largest population of kids within the foster system. 75% of foster children have biological sibings. Most foster parents however, are only licensed for one child.
So, what do we do when sibling groups come into care? How do we know if we can and can't, should or shouldn't take a sibling set? Are there times where a sibling set just isn't a good fit for our home? What do studies say about foster sibling separated from their biological counterparts? How does trauma influnece placements? Mental health? Age gaps? Kids from hard places?
In this video, I will answer the following questions from my experience as a foster parent who has been licensed for fifteen years:

This is really great to hear! My husband and I are going to start the application process here in a few months once we decide how we're expanding our current space. We're both keen to take in sibling groups so I appreciate hearing the reasons for and against and what kind of situations could happen. Glad to be helping out our community in WA as well!
