No, they are underated. If you listen to each song, they put a ton of work into each one. This is a talented group, but unfortunately, they only have one hit song, and it's rarely played on the radio do to it's implications. This is a talented group, and they don't receive much recognition for their work (besides pumped up kicks). That is the definition of underated.

Yep, I'm a few years older and was just thinking what your dad and others think. I am always intrigued by bands' styles and influence. When I saw live versions of these guys I was like 'whoa, I've not seen that much electronica for over 30 years. Drum machine, beats, multiple keyboards and upbeat tunes (even if darker lyrics) make this group have a somewhat classic and extraordinary beat. Very cool. 10 years later but still consider this worthy modern music.

Musicians say they make music to help people… this song… I was listening to this song when I was 19, living in Las Vegas by myself, afraid of everything. I was isolated and I never got to pursue what I wanted to there because I was unshakably sick for two months!! I was there to pursue an artistic career of sorts. I was also setting up an art studio and started to have a drinking problem because I was so sick, and I was contemplating suicide and other reckless things. “Yeah, yeah, and it’s okay…. I tie my hands up to a chair so I don’t fall that way” this line has held me down somehow envisioning my hands tied behind me to just SIT DOWN no matter how uncomfortable and miserable I am. It hit my bones. I have PTSD and I don’t live an easy life, and I’m 23 now and I still go back to this line in my head sometimes like it’s magic. So yeah, in case foster the people reads this…. you’ve helped me in the darkest times of my life.

Actually, it's kind of an anti-drugs song (so I've heard) - a critique of bored, idle rich kids - kids of Hollywood celebs, can't ever be as great as Mom & Dad are, so give up, get through the day, get so high, can't even sit in a chair without falling out of it. But hey, hey, it's OK. (I don't know if it's pathetic, or what. Can you deal w/ it? Mom&Dad are high-voltage live-wires w/ tons o' natural talent, and what am I? Chopped beef? A normie raised w/ best-of-the-best world-class everything everywhere? What does that make me? A zero? (Someone called Billy Corgan a zero and he wrote a song about it. Check it.) I am a guy brought up on 70's and 80's rock, but I really like these guys. I lost my mother a month ago and to me it represents keeping going when things are at their worst. It encapsulates her sudden bad turn, her struggle and unexpected death, getting the late night phone call, telling and comforting my kids, the wake, the funeral and all the other arrangements. This encapsulates being completely lost. It was like "sipping poison and having to hold on tight".

Sometimes life it takes you by the hair Pulls you down Before you know it, it's gone and you're dead again I've been in places and I won't pretend Yeah I'd make it out just to fall on my head Wake up strange and take the walk downstairs Hit the pawn up on the corner and pay for my rent You know that I could not believe my own truth Just show them what I choose, got nothing to lose Yeah yeah and it's O.K. I tie my hands up to a chair so I don't fall that way Yeah yeah and I'm alright I took a sip of something poison but I'll hold on tight You know those days when you want to just choose To not get out of bed, you're lost in your head again You play the game but you kind of cut 'Cause you're coming down hard and your joints are all stuck I've tried to say that it's not the only way I never knew if I could face myself to change You were pacing, I was insecure Slip and fall, I'm dodging calls, hug the prison I've been living in Yeah yeah and it's O.K. I tie my hands up to a chair so I don't fall that way Yeah yeah and I'm alright I took a sip of something poison but I'll hold on tight Yeah yeah and it's O.K. I tie my hands up to a chair so I don't fall that way Yeah yeah and I'm alright I took a sip of something poison Took a sip of something poison, poison Yeah yeah and it's O.K. I tie my hands up to a chair so I don't fall that way Yeah yeah and I'm alright I took a sip of something poison but I'll hold on tight Yeah yeah and it's O.K. I tie my hands up to a chair so I don't fall that way Yeah yeah and I'm alright I took a sip of something poison Took a sip of something poison, poison

I loved listening to this song when I was struggling with my teenage years. Then I went to prison and this song didn’t help any. Kind of helps right now. Helping me remember what I was thinking of achieving in life.

I had this cd and a little radio growing up. My sister and I used to blast this and dance around my room. Why I ever forgot about it or this song in particular is beyond me. We really underestimated the power that music has on us and it’s a good kind of power.

it was 2011. my fist day of 7th grade . I remember i just had got the fallout 3 collector's edition from my mom. That morning i woke up to helena beat on mtv and got dressed with my window open and the only visible thing was clouds. Thinking if this is the start i can't imagine what's next. 11 years later im 22 and i still have that as one of my best memories....

This song really slaps hard even ten years later. It almost reminds me of my painful early days in high school. I’m surprised how much time has passed since then.

Late 2000s and early 2010s music was unparalleled; it was so uplifting and happy that it makes me feel nostalgic. Foster the People, MGMT, Empire of the Sun, Two Door Cinema Club, Calvin Harris, fun, Florence & The Machine, Deadmau5, Arcade Fire, M83, Beach House, Tame Impala all made this era for me.

That one i listened to non stop on repeat for Days. i just heard this one last week. i dont like it as much as the other two but i CANT get it out of my head. every quiet moment and suddenly my brain has it going non stop. such a wicked earworm and a great video too. i guess my brain likes this song more than i realize.
