I have been looking for this song for over a decade. I could never remember any lyrics but just remembered the melody. I remember hearing this on the “local on the 8’s” on the weather channel. Sometimes they’d play actual songs on the forecast, and I remember loving this but only hearing it once or twice. Heard it on a local radio station tonight and immediately searched it up.

While Best Friend is my absolute favorite FTP song, this banger is such an earworm and very repeatable. I just hope, like the older version, you add the lyrics cuz it can get really hard to sing along, towards the end, and that really is a disservice to the amazing lyrics and message. You know, as an American, this really hits home with current politics. And I’m talking about more than our protests for Gaza getting silenced, but how our country is going in a facist direction, it can be really discouraging and makes me feel like “I wanna disappear”. But this song pumps me up, making me feel like I can take on anyone or anything. This is how the experience feels, you could sit down and be complacent, or you could take action to keep your rights and give a voice to those that can’t speak up. I love how this song basically is saying, “You’re so much more capable than you realize.” Our government is trying to censor us because our politicians are afraid of us. They now know how powerful we are when we all work together. “Focus on your ability, then they can’t gain what they wanna steal.”

Here in NY people have been permitted to protest over the fact that no other Middle Eastern country is willing to take in refugees from Palestine and that the Hamas leadership is living in mansions over in Qatar. Obviously they need Qatar to plan more air strikes! Some colleges won’t bring them food! So ridiculous. If you’re protesting then the government should make sure you are fed and hydrated!
