Correction, she’s the bitter twisted old queen of irrelevance. This type of ‘high camp’ liturgy (and theology) was thankfully ditched by Vatican II, which he obviously doesn’t ‘belong’ in or have any relevance in, despite being a post Vatican II cardinal. The church that Frances is busily, beautifully and skilfully steering today is a world away (and advanced forward from), the church (museum) that Burke and his ilk so obviously yearn for and so obviously belong in! 😉

@@garryhayes949 "Irrelevance?" Yes indeed, the Extraordinary Form is extremely irrelevant. That's why St. John Cantius is taking off, that's why FSSP parishes and ICKSP parishes are growing exponentially. That's why since the inception of the Novus Ordo there were people, some not even Catholic, who fought and petitioned the Pope to have the old liturgy restored. And what you see as 'High Camp' is steeped in the traditions of the Church that go back centuries or even millennia. Even St. Pope John Paul II, who was Pope when the new liturgy started to really find its own, wore the Magna Cappa as a Cardinal. His being a post-conciliar Cardinal and still wanting the old liturgy is exactly why the Latin Mass is not "irrelevant". People still want the old liturgy all these years later. Cardinal Burke didn't start liking the old Mass once he became a Cardinal or even a Bishop when he wouldn't have had the cape. This "museum" you speak of, is still part of the Church, and it will never leave, whether you like it or not. It is a timeless, universal Church that speaks with one voice and offers everything on Earth to God during the Mass.

Just started to discover traditional mass and rites. We have been robbed in the modern church of such perfection. Apope and clergy at war with such beauty and good fruit/ How can they want to throw this away?

I discovered a long time ago that the catholic institution is infested with pedophiles. This is all man made religion it has nothing to do with God. Jesus had no where to lay his head and all these religious buildings with gold, marble bronzes, etc etc etc... does not represent Jesus at all. The second commandment Exode 20:4 do not make statues or images..... and what do we see?

@@lukealadeen7836 The Blessed Sacrament, is the word of GOD. Referring to the body and blood of Christ in the form of consecrated sacramental bread and wine at a celebration of the Eucharist at MASS. Hope you don't mean a bible being just the inspired word that we read in mass. Hope your not a protestant heretic?

Hola, es solo a causa del hecho de que esta misa es tridentine, es decir las leyes liturgicas de ese rite y ordo son las que se usan. Pero estás correcto ahora in el novus ordo no pienso que se puede usar.

Yep it is abolished for Novus ordo but this wasn't a Novus ordo mass, so the old liturgical rubrics and laws apply so it's permissible to use in this case. That's at least what the book, "The Church Visible" says.
