@@brumtownvloggers these videos with Adam Gibbs in there are some of the best! They are halirous when they get together. I watch both their channels religiously but Gavin's channel is the only KZbin channel I don't mind watching "re-runs" of. If you ask me though, I'd like to see a Impractical Jokers spoof with Gavin, Adam and Thomas for the best shot. - I'd hate to be the loser at the end of the show though... (you're welcome Gavin, get on it and make it happen now.)

I'm sure I'm late to this but here goes anyway...The breeze is literally created by the sun's warmth. As the sun warms the land (soil and rocks) the land warms the air just above it which rises and pulls in cooler denser air from nearby, hey presto - breeze created! In mountains the effect is compounded by the high bare slopes. The mountain sides are warmed first with early light and being mostly bare rock they warm quickly. The air around the slopes begins to rise quickly, sucking in cooler air from lower down (the pond and valley) so the effect seems to come on like a switch at times. And it come dissipate just as fast when the sun goes down and the air temps stabilize.
@markheatherington83672 жыл бұрын
The sun heats areas differentially causing changes in air pressure. This causes air movement - high pressure flowing to low. Uneven heating is often more pronounced near bodies of water. Wonderful video of a "perfect" landscape morning!

The sun comes up and the thermal differential causes that wind. The wind is essentially a biproduct of warm air and cool ground. When the air is warm and humid and there's snow on the ground thats when fog usually happens. meteorology and landscape photography go hand and hand for me. :) More vids like this!!!
@MartinFnGolej2 жыл бұрын
My simple understanding of this phenomena is that Sun hits air/ground, causes change of temperature and that causes the air to start moving. I once winnessed this over a ridge, at noon, as the sun rays "folded" over the ridge into the valey, for 15 minutes, wind picked up and clouds swent moving from one side of the mountain to the other, once those 15 minutes passed, whiteout settled back in and visibility was all but gone. It was quite an experience.
@deransadventures2 жыл бұрын
*** Regarding breezes when the sun rises, it's because ground heats faster than water, thereby the air above the ground is heating faster than the water above the lake. The air above land then rises (warm air rises, cold sinks), and the air over the water gets sucked in over land to replaced the air that has risen. That's how sea breezes work on a much larger scale.

The wind usually picks up after sunrise because the sun heats the ground and the air close to the ground which caused it to rise. This then causes the cooler air aloft to fall down to replace the risen air. Hence the cool breeze... Another class video Gavin 👍🏻👍🏻
@pixelgenau29822 жыл бұрын
Pressure rises when air gets heated up. Cooler air has lower pressure. Air always wants to equal pressure like a balloon when you release the air inside. This behavior creates movement we call wind.
@alanparkinson5492 жыл бұрын
@@pixelgenau2982 Sorry, you're completely wrong there. When the air is warmed by the ground, it expands at essentially the same pressure - the pressure at any point in the atmosphere is simply the weight of the column of air above that point. As soon as it expands even slightly it becomes less dense than the surrounding air and so it rises. At which point surrounding air immediately flows in to replace it, hence the breeze.
@pthompson1082 жыл бұрын
As the sun rises it warms the air sitting on the lake, and that air rises. As the air rises more air comes in from the side to replace it creating a breeze.

The air movement, I believe, occurs when the sun warms the mountain tops, causing that air to rise and draw replacement air up the valleys. (This sun-warming/convection effect was mentioned a little differently in another comment and I'm just adding some mountain and valley details.) Katabatic winds at night are the opposite, (cold, dense air from the mountains flows down into the valleys).
