In his honour Eddie and Edward Sahakian of Davidoff prepared a box of 2007 #romeoyjulieta #escudos A marvellous #vitola very close if not identical to the #sancristobal #lafuerza . A Limited Edition from #2007 the cigar dates from the first year in which all the tobacco in the cigar, and not just the wrapper was aged for two years. At the time I remember the cigar clearly - It was terrible. It just goes to show that never ever write off a box of Cuban cigars as they are now delicious and, sadly, unavailable. (But then so is most of the stuff we talk about)
Kirby was in town seeking instruction in the art of wearing colourful tweed. Someone had the temerity to suggest that he dressed like a funeral director With his Homburg hat, his 22 ounce double-breasted overcoat with martingale and his highly polished oxfords I think the look he was channelling was US senator visiting the league of Nations circa 1933
