My son and I went to Herkimer and had no idea what we were doing BUT it sprinkled rain and we found quite a few crystals that were much smaller. The rain made it easier for us to find them. We had a great time! We got lots of very nice ones - very clear and perfect shapes

It is a very informative and interesting film. The mineral market often makes us believe that it is easy and immediate to find beautiful and perfect crystals when the percentage is very low. It is a perspective that is very often missing from collectors who have never done research. And I am pleased to note that it works as well in the Alps in Europe as it does in the USA. Thanks for this live.

Yeah, the title found a pocket is kind of misleading. It's on a private claim so I'm sure he was invited and shown the pocket for him to dig in and provide advertisement for their claim to collect at. A few crystals is no skin off their back.

So elestial is when the channels are inside and skeletal is all the outside etchings? You’d think I’d know this by now.

Wish these guys weren’t private. I’d pay a lot to dig here. More than any other claim.

I forgot to ask, the smalls that can easily be missed, is mixed in all of the mud you scoop out with your hand when going for the larger ones. Do you go back after extracting the larger crystals to collect those or do you just ignore those and concentrate just on the larger ones? You would think the smalls would be your "bread & butter" of your store, no? It would be much easier if you had a helper to take care of that for you. If life allowed, I would volunteer to do that for you free of charge, just for the adventure of discovery! (And a few smalls at the end of the day, lol)

i would guess it was water freezing inside the crystal, expanding, and creating stress that cracks the stone?
@mikelouis93893 ай бұрын
They crack when it gets too cold and the water inside the crystal freezes. Probably happened in the last couple of thousand years. Dang shame but it is what it is.

If the heats been as bad where Y'all at as it is here in sw Florida I understand why your not on your normal game. It's been buck ugly hot 🔥
Brian you always bring us interesting content. Do you have a stake in this mine? You often say we, and use excavation equipment When at this location. Or do you just pay a certain amount to dig there for such a long period as a proffessional yourself? Just curious, and if it's non of my business, I understand. It would be a very cool job to have if I was younger though!
