During partition Biharis migrated to east pakistan and when Bangladesh got separated from Pakistan, Pakistanis rejected them saying they are indians, india rejected them saying they are Pakistanis and Bangladesh was created on the basis of Bengali language so they are not Bengalis, so Biharis of Bangladeshi are refugees.

@Mr Wonder You are wrong. Most of them or their ancestors had been living in East Bengal (now Bangladesh) much before partition of India as lakhs of Muslim Biharis had been living in West Bengal. These people loved Pakistan, and took active part in rape and killings of about 30 lakhs Bangladeshis (most of them Hindus) in 1971 by Pakistani Army. They are called 'Stranded Pakistani' as they could not leave Bangladesh and reach Pakistan due to unexpected liberation of Bangladesh. As Bangladesh did not grant citizenship to these Pakistanis for four decades, most of them illegally entered into India and living in West Bengal and Bihar. Updation of NRC or verification of citizenship is needed in West Bengal and Bihar to detect them for the safety and security of India.

Those people are basically Muslim biharis who came here after partition in 1947. During the 1971 war many biharis supported Pakistani Army. Even after liberation many of them wished to go to pakistan and they were kept in the geneva camp. But pakistan never took them and they got stuck in those camps. Because they supported Pakistan bengalis hated them and they were kept isolated. But after all these years the situation is changing a little bit. The Biharis in Bangladesh went before 1971, before the independence of Bangladesh when it was Pakistan. They were mostly Urdu speaking Biharis wanted to settle in Pakistan. Partially the reason is not to accept Bangladesh and take the citizenship. They still consider themselves as Pakistani and wanted to migrate to Pakistan even though Pakistan has no appetite to take them. I think recently they are getting the reality and changing their mind. Participation would be the way to go and get them out of the curse of poverty. They need to accept the reality and Bangladesh should warmly create the path to make them part of its own. Why you found Bihari Muslim in Bangladesh? Reason behind this is few Muslims from Bihar those are inclined towards Muslim League flew to East Pakistan after partition because for them it's easy to go east pakistan rather mainland pakistan because that is far from Bihar. It's good to see you excited to meet people of Indian origin in an unexpected place like Bangladesh. But it's regretful that you only mentioned about labour class in Kerala from Bihar and you must know it would not be difficult to find some of the top bureaucrats, managers, judges among others hailing from Bihar in all southern states of India! I have seen a majority of nurses and compounders originally from Kerala working in Bihar but I do know that the state also produces top class lawyers, statesmen and businessmen and these medical staff are not synonymous with Kerala. As a matter of fact, Bihar is not bound to a particular culture, creed or race and it's very much diversified in these aspects. Typically labour class from Bihar would use 'so called Bihari language' while others hailing from the same state would mostly stick to widely prevalent dialects of Hindi or English or other local languages and because others are not able to perceive them as Biharis (there are no distinct features to identify a Bihari otherwise), they largely equate Biharis with labour class and that's the irony! As a state, Bihar has been a laggard in various development parameters due to historical and political reasons but that doesn't mean everything not so cool would be attached to people hailing from this state! You are right. Those are not bihari in bangladesh. They preferred east pakistan during partition of country and settled there. Large number of muslims from bihar migrated to pakishtan during partition.
