You are an awesome story teller. And I think from your demeanor and attention to detail you'd make a great teacher. Need more of them.

To finally slow down enough to hear the voice of the SNL guitar boss? Priceless. One of those perfect surprises in life. Thanks for the memories and the tunes of course.

I've seen Dylan maybe a dozen times. The tour with GE stands out because it is where after many years of being a Bob Dylan fan I discovered he could play guitar. I mean really play guitar. There were half a dozen times when the two of them would break free of the song and jam guitars. There are times when one is playing with another and the magic groove happens. They had the magic that night in kansas city.

He needs to do like a WTF episode or some other in depth podcast where he can tell all these stories these legends of rock music need to have their stories preserved beforr these guys are all gone and we're stuck with the Foo Fighters as the elder statesmen of rock lol

I saw this tour in Calgary, 1991 or 92, it was an incredible show. GE (I believe) played stand-up acoustic bass for part of it. That acoustic set was magical. The hard rock set that followed was revelatory.

Damn, GE Smith just seems like a cool laid back guy to hang out with and talk to. Talks about how cool it was to play with Bob Dylan, but how cool would it be to just hang out and play with him?
