Sums up my entire experience with this format. It literally feels like wins and losses are preordained. Doesn’t matter what the quality of my deck is. I usually end up losing to either mana screw/flood or one insane rare from my opponent.

I like the skelly in your deck. Fodder for Eaten Alive, comes back after Wrath, snacks for Ghoul.

Ever since Foundations drop, the shuffler is acting up. Mana flood/screw is so apparent that someone might have just turned off the hand smoothing ...

Am I dumb or does 17 lands always seem like it's too many?

i only play 16

If you have a spell that costs 2 mana of the same color you need at least 8 mana sources for that color. If you have a 5 casting cost spell you probably need 17 lands If you have a 6 casting cost spell you probably definitely need 17 lands (Assuming a 2 color 40 card deck)

I went to day 2 with 16 lands. My thought progress in this set : lets mulligan a bit more if necessary but if it helps vs the flood we will take that.

@@christophersimon2218 I’ve adopted the rule of no mulligans unless absolutely necessary but I can see how I might need to loosen that rule in this set.

@@tachyonbeats1527 i think it was the "professor" talking about mulligan once. And from then on i improved a lot in my win rate. Taking or not a mulligan is the moment you have most control about changing anything in the game. I lost a bit of the fear of mulligan and it went well with me. Though i absolutly dont like it. But a hand with 1 land or offcolor i won't keep, as well if the curve is horrendeous

That was sad. I mean the deck did not seem particularly strong imho but mana flood/screw is just bad.
