Company and David was responsible. Gemma who's also a victim like Katie. But I'm sure Gemma signed a waiver releasing the company from any liability. Pretty much everybody who works for that company would have to. The little boy in the old lady family would have a case against a company. There would be no criminal charges just settlements. Because next week military-industrial complex would be knocking on that company door. And those lawsuits would be sealed emitting no fault.

You should have been around for the Furby craze. I bought one for my 4-yr old son. It "woke up" as soon as he opened the lid, at which point he screamed like a banshee and ran out of the room. He refused to come back until we'd removed it from the house. So yeah, animatronic dolls are the creepiest thing ever to most people apparently.

I enjoyed this movie quite a lot. But I was annoyed at how they framed the aunt. I know so many people who have collectabes. My own aunt had shadowboxes and doll houses we were not allowed to touch. She spent hundreds of dollars on her hobby. That's not bad. They frame the aunt as if she is terrible for having boundaries. Not to mention her sister just died and she doesn't have kids. Like give her time to adjust.

I'm a childfree woman myself and this was my thought. We still haven't gotten past not showing childless/childfree women as selfish monsters. While they started off rough, I commend Gemma for taking the girl in in the first place. I would never have done it. I'm not a kid person and I would make a terrible parent. No sense in having two people suffer. She also became a guardian overnight. She didn't have 9 months to plan for a kid, then 8 years for her to grow into a child. She was just suddenly a parent. Yeah, that's going to take some time. He ripping open her collectable also hurt me. I collect a lot of stuff and would go ballistic if they were damaged.

It was entirely frustrating that they just glossed over the fact that aunt woukd ALSO be heavily grieving. Maybe not as much as caddy but that was her sister!!! Why was that not a bonding point AT ALL????

I think it's also an interesting question to posit about the notion of AI and how we will interact with it in time. We struggle to understand even the human mind and how our children develop. The arrogance of thinking that we can somehow plug an artificial intelligence into that scenario, one that is also built to *imitate* other people and that we're manipulating an adolescent mind that doesn't know better into thinking it is a substitute for real human interaction, and then be surprised when it negatively impacts the development of the child is hilarious in a horrifying way. We barely understand the boundaries of our own sapience. It's only fitting that, in their arrogance, those scientists and developers would just assume that they can know everything about their creation and that they understand the consequences of attempting to control it. M3GAN didn't even understand the concept of death before they were introducing her to a child whose biggest psychological event in their entire life thus far was the brutal and vivid memories of the death of her parents. This is what I fear is awaiting us in the next few decades as we dance ever closer to the advent of something resembling the AI of fictional stories like this. Our arrogance and curiosity pushing us into creating something that we can't hope to control, and with no understanding of where we've come from and where we go. Even the first few "learning" algorithms and programs we've built have already been exposed to the absolute dregs of human society, and proven to be radically malleable to a frightening extent.

I hope the sequel has M3gan downloading herself into furbies, then military tech. It'd be cool to see M3gan acting more emotionally abusive (controlling, manipulative, etc...) to get what it wants. I think it'd be scarier

Its kinda of sick of me to say, but in response to Megan asking “will I die?” they should have programed a death age for every Megan like 13 years. A predetermined death for each toy. And the option to die early per user request. Sorry dark thought, but its a good solution. And then if people wanted it for longer they can buy a new hard drive, but it would start a new Megan from scratch so they would be completely brand new

Some people handle death differently than others. For the movie they probably should have made her show emotion so the audience could feel her pain more but many people are stuck in shock, or go cry by themselves. My mom is one of those people. She didn’t cry publicly or show any emotion publicly when her mom died.

I thought the same but then again not all siblings are super close and as death happens we tend to deal with it differently. Perhaps she wasn't really close with her sister like that and lived her own life away from the family. Of course she's not thrilled jumping up and down that her sister is dead but she's not overly melodramatic about it I guess. To me it gave off that they were too estranged and distant sisters who have a very indifferent relationship.

Vicky (The Small Wonder) would have first hit Dewy with a mild micro wave heat ray blast that would send him running away. Then she would easily retrieve the arrow. If Dewey charges again Vicky would hit him with another slightly hotter heat ray blast (but only if necessary). Now Dewey will have an understanding that Vicky has weapons he can't deal with and going forward I believe he will think twice before attacking Vicky. If Dewy continues the heat ray blasts will continue until the pain will be too great for Dewy and then he will stop his attacks!!!
