Excellent photos of your Akita. It’s never easy to lose a pet but they can’t really tell you what’s wrong or what hurts so when they’re to the point in their old age, you know you’re doing the right thing if you have to put them to sleep. It’s definitely hard but it’s harder watching an old pet struggle to walk or eat.

I have 2 cats that I have had for 5 years, but a month ago one of them ran away for 6 months. We though she ran off and died, me and my family were really sad. she was very friendly and purred loudly. But then we moved 3 months after she left, and at that point I accepted she was gone. But one day I come home from school, and my mom tells me they found her at a gas station a few miles from our old house. She was really shy for the first few weeks she was really shy and gradually got used to our new house. It's a miracle we found her and that she remembered us.

I feel you, I had to put down my 14 years old dog that I had since I was 8 years old last Monday. It was one of the hardest decisions I had to make in my life.

Misfitis yaaa its so tough, its better than having them suffer more though. my guy cudnt walk, was pooping on himself, was real sad. he lived a long life with Addison's disease. just think of all the love they brought u and u gave them. pups r great animals

Ryan Miller Just lost my big fat mutt Ruffes. He died last year, we still have his ashes in the living room. He was a, “ruff-ball.” He was a gentle giant and a fast runner. Everyone loved Ruffes, heck my bird that hates everyone for sept me groomed Ruffes. He’s a good dog, I still say goodnight even if his ashes Aren’t near. I bet we’ll see them again someday.

That looks like a great dog and I’m sorry about her passing...loosing pets is so hard. The he first time I ever saw my husband (then boyfriend) cry was when his german shepherd died when she was 15; he had her since he was a kid. Whereas all the cats and dogs I’ve own so far have died in accidents, sadly...The mere thought of our current dog (a stupid cute dachshund) getting old is heartbreaking :(

Your Akita was beautiful. My childhood dog was an English Springer Spaniel. Still miss her, 23 years since her passing. I like the look of those pens and am off to check them out... not that I need anymore pens. 🙂

One of the things I miss about living in Las Vegas is the fact there are several pen shops there. If you ran out of something, you could pop down to the Montblanc store to get supplies. (I think there used to be 2.)

Yes! Platinum pens have that bin seal in the cap to help protect moisture in the ibk. That makes it good for longer storage and EDC,

One thing that really stands out to me as I tour around in this comments section- The sheer number of beloved puppers that have graced this earth surely mean that this is a special, if sometimes sad, place. I know my pupper is hands down my best friend, and I have no way of knowing for how long she'll be around. But, as with every and all of these goodest doggos, the time that we have together is as much about *her* having as wonderful a time as I can help her to, as it is about me loving every minute she's in my life. It'll be unfathomably sad when she goes, but gosh darn it, it's our purpose to have an absolute *ball* till she does.
