Just no. Band and color guard is different. Band is instruments, color guard is flag/choreography. This band is mostly props and visuals -eastlake high trumpet

So you mean to tell the whole band community that winds can't do dancing choreography?

This is marching band anything can happen. This is NEW. A NEW idea has been implanted into the huge world of marching band. Music is changing. Marching band is changing. Take it from a guy in college learning about music and 20th century changes to not only percussion but winds and color guard in the marching band world. (Also applies to concert band and winter guard and spring percussion.)

***** interesting that you call a nearly 20 year old concept "new". Nothing is new in marching band since things got crazy in the 90s. Nothing 'new' about this. Its still fun to watch and I just find it funny that people are calling something we did 15+ years ago 'new'. It was 'new' then, when the crowd literally gasped as we entered the field -- and when there was complete silence in the crowd until after the barrel solo at our first show in 96. THAT was when it was 'new'. This is just a really thoughtful reprise. My school was the 'first' to do Water World. We gave the concept to FVHS and Kings HS in Michigan after our WGI National Championship. Kings HS went to BOA with their version of it in the fall of 1997: (Kings High School Marching Band - 1997 - Waterworld) We won WGI in the spring of 1997 with it (THE ORIGINAL Percussion Theater, Northglenn HS 1997 WGI PSW Champions "Water World") - I played tymps in winter and in the brass line in the fall show. But yeah, this was 'new' in the 90s. So its not new. :))) I've been dying to see someone do it ever since i did so this is a cool video to me :)
