About the gearbox. In a large car the automation of it needs to be cheap because otherwise you would just go hybrid. But here we can use a pair of bass voice coils or solenoids to change gears? On a race car the first gear matches torque. You start with the clutch and then pull the engine from 1200 RPM to 8000. Then we switch gears to 6000 RPM. So the electronic closes throttle, pulls out the cogs, then watches the 2000 RPM delta to the next gear ( 10 Hz ) and precisely jams in the cogs into the respective holes. A long thin shaft to the rear acts as a twist spring and eats the shock. Wheels spin a bit.
@ArneChristianRosenfeldt3 жыл бұрын
The flywheel helps a bit, but basically an engine with 4 or less cylinders and more then 1:6 compression has negative instantaneous torque: ms periods of time where the engine has no surplus energy for the drive train. I propose a CVT where a push rod or connect rod is relocated on a large drive disk (pair). The large wheel has egg carton pattern. A robot arm presses the connection rod end into this. Then pulls out and relocates. Maybe tandem arms. Voice coils are used to inject short torque pulses into the disk and the flywheel to match a position on the fine grid exactly. So this makes an irregular clicking sound with the same repetition as the ignition.
@macbouncer85253 жыл бұрын
Disc brakes are almost essential, FG do a complete hudraulic drilled and ventilated disc kit, its very good on 1/6th scale :-) Chassis might need to be a bit thicker.. theres some serious forces at work in there. Ally has a modulus of about 69, carbon fibre of the same thickness between 90 and 190!! nice work.
@brettweerasooriya37763 жыл бұрын
I feel like the radiator and throttle bodies should be facing the front of the vehicle. That’s where the clean and cool air is.
