This is the single best transition choke video I have ever seen. It is phenomenal. I only wish you were a little closer to the camera. But you do spend enough time explaining it at that length of distance. So honestly I have no complaints.

Intstruction wise its very good, length wise yuck, too many words to get to the point.

Classic Carlson Gracie! Hey Hurricane Jiu Jitsu, I had a great time training there while I was in Cleveland on two separate occasions. Y'all made me feel right at home. Now I continue with Marcelo Alonso! I also frequent Chicago to see CGT HQ and affiliates. Thanks everyone!

Good technics and details. Im using same D´arce setup, but everytime people will extend their head back ..how you said. . what did help to me was put fist to ground, it works better for me, felling stronger with pushing to head and free way to go trough with my other hand.

Professor I was given a tip with the arm in and head only guillotine is instead of crunching. The opposite arm that is away from the legs just upper cut with the elbow to the opposite hip. The choke comes on instantaneously. The crunching works as well, but I find myself squeezing versus crunching. The uppercut elbow to opposite hip establishes that crunch versus squeeze.

This is very easy to strap up and it’s available while defending the takedown but you still gotta make sure that head don’t slip out
@FTWGamerTrue3 жыл бұрын
@@natedavis1087 yeah since that comment I've worked a lot on solidifying the grip as soon as i can to make sure the head can't get out. Still haven't made it to a gym yet though :(

Since the winter I've dealt with various family issues and sicknesses though so I haven't gotten a good period of training in since the tourney actually :( Stomach flare ups and now naturally covid lol. Hoping it lines up better soon

I don't feel so embarrassed now after watching those first two holds being demonstrated. The guy I wrestle keeps kicking my ass with the head and arm and the guillotine. I thought I just sucked because I couldn't get out of those holds. Now I see that even experienced, well-trained MMA fighters can't either. I'll just have to learn how to keep my friend from getting me in those bad spots to start with.

I always learned to trap the leg for the japanese necktie. Is this just optional? Because sometimes it's hard to get the leg (especially If my partner knows what I'm looking for)
@DaMartialAthlete4 жыл бұрын
I think if u don’t trap the leg u at least have to make sure the head is cinched in tight. I usually try to trap the leg tho
@guest00464 жыл бұрын
Yeah, traping the leg or doing the japanese necktie from halfguard is the best option. If you dont have the leg you can just spin away with your body and lose some pressure as defence.
@Kaucera3 жыл бұрын
You can absolutely tap people out without the leg, in fact I get it without 90% of the time and only need the leg if I'm not hitting the child right.

You also don't need to roll though, you can post your left leg and push off, so you both are on your sides.
@Mpulsve09914 ай бұрын
I’ve secured the anaconda without the roll, is it necessary??
@bananapatch91182 жыл бұрын
I’m a big thick guy with short thick arms. When I am going for the anaconda I can’t get to my bicep so I gable grip near my partners tricep and then Gator roll and move towards the mount. They tap before I get to the mount. Works well for my body type. Now trying to figure out how to hit a darce….

Good video, but IMO the Peruvian Necktie should be the fourth Horsemen. The Japanese Necktie is just a modification of the Darce.

Roll is unnecessary. Front headlock, step in deep with right leg and sit back onto left side...done.
@hurricanejiujitsu11103 жыл бұрын
Actually, you are correct. That is a variation I use a lot. But when you only roll 90° to the side, you end up laying on your lock. Which can sometimes weaken your grip significantly. At least this has been my experience with that variation. But I use them both!
