This is one of the best wheeling videos ive ever seen. Minimal jaw jacking, good angles, cool rigs. Thanks for taking the time.

It has been at least 10 years since my Son and I took that trail. Looks a bit more rough than I remember. I made it in my 91 Explorer with a 6" lift, 33's and the stock Trac-Loc in the rear without issue. We made the trip to have lunch in the Saloon. Since I am only about 15 miles from Lake Pleasant, I think I need to go again. It will be in the same Explorer.

Building my XJ right now. This is my second one. Doing a 5.5” iron rock 3 link front 4 link rear fox 2.0 shocks. 35’s, gears, lockers, sye, driveshaft. I’ve done this trail at least 10 times and have a blast everytime! See ya on the trails

@28:20 all you needed to do was lightly left foot brake to slow the slipping tires down, aka the poor man’s lockers lol 🤙

I do that trail probably once a month I live just about 20 minutes from the trailhead then doing it for 8 or 9 years now I've Seeing lots of changes over the years there's actually more than one way than the backway there's another backway but great love to see people using the thrill you all know it was an old railroad track at 1 time

I've made this run four or five times and it changes every time. This trail is very underrated in the fact that it's a Long trail. It's very rewarding though cause crown King camping and the town is an amazing destination. Great video !

My son and I did that trail last in 2019, in a RZR 900 trail 50” model, if you can believe that! We were in a large group - But wow, it looks a lot different now - I suppose some of those bypasses you took were the “harder” route around (we call those red trails!) it does look a lot rougher in general though, especially that large rock that apparently fell down from the recent rains. Well done video!

I had the same sort of thing happened to a 7gal water jug while I was on the Rubicon but all I did was took my Gerber knife and I cut a chunk off of one of the lugs of my tires and stuffed it in the hole and it is still that way to this day with no leak.
@mountaincrawlers8
@mountaincrawlers8 Жыл бұрын
That’s a great idea! We’d definitely have to do that with a fuel one. Glad that it was only water spilling on his roof!
@skeetermcswagger0U812
@skeetermcswagger0U812 Жыл бұрын
@@mountaincrawlers8 Yeah I don't know if the tire rubber will agree with the gasoline as I have never had to carry extra fuel on the Rubicon or any other trails cause just a little over 20 gallons will take my 2 hole Pioneer XJ a week of trailriding to use up(dunes and highway is another story...)but I always make sure to take all the water I can cause you never know what could happen and you can't live off of gasoline alone. I'm gonna be going to Arizona in a couple weeks after I get back from a trip to Oregon I might have to check out that trail you guys were just on,nice video. 😉👍

Just found ya, so know zero about your rigs. Building a XJ up for trail use currently here. What's your lift? What's the tire size? How much fender bashing did you have to do? 4 1/2 inch and 33's in progress here. Not sure if I need to slash and bash or not. Learning.

@@DevinReavis you should try it now. I don’t know how old you are but since most of us were 12 this trail has completely changed. My buddies dad said back in the day his parents used to pull a camp trailer up it. No chance doing any of that today.
