Great book🎉! The narrator’s cadence sounds like she’s from the Deep South, so I increased the speed to 1.25x and she’s now from Kentucky. Of course, I have heard Kentuckians speak that slowly after a big party, but not all the time. When I was attending Berea College, foreign students used to ask us to slow down. They said we spoke faster than New Yorkers, which bumfuzzled us.

I’m from the Deep South. We don’t sound anything like that. She sounds like someone who has only heard the fake accents on True Blood or Beverly Hillbillies.

I love Tonya's books and am enjoying this series, much more than I expected! I will say the reader was a tad too slow for my liking, but I listened at 1.5 speed, which saved the book for me! 💞

With the speed at 1.25, it is MUCH better, and she no longer sounds as if she just left the dentist after having teeth pulled...which is what it felt like at normal speed!

I love listening to the audiobooks on KZbin but was getting so irritated with the ads interrupting constantly. I finally decided to pay monthly, for the ap through KZbin, that stops the ads! It has been well worth it. Much more enjoyable listening. For as much as I am on KZbin, very well worth it.

This was a good story, but near the end, many lines were repeated. I'm not sure why, but it was mostly in chapter 20. I did speed it up to 1.5x; otherwise, I would not have been able to listen to the book because the author spoke so slowly...and I live in the South, too!

Overall a very enjoyable audiobook. Well written, but the narrator is not good, in my opinion. Increasing the playback speed def helps, but it still sounds like she’s just reading and not doing a good job of it.

Okay, okay. Four leaf clovers are as connected to shamrocks as penguins are to Santa Claus and the North Pole. Common mistake for folks who don't know the significance . Maybe the hill williams will explain why their celebration is cockeyed before too long. Love the narrator's drawl - we're losing our regional accents in this country; I blame TV.
