I love watching your video. I will definitely choose this over Aloft after watching your review on this hotel. I will be travelling to Bali August next yr. What hotel would you suggest in Kuta? Aloft Beachwalk or 4 points by Sheraton? Thanks.

Hi Nick, how are you today? Where are you travelling to next? I am planning my Bali trip and I am really excited. I am looking at a map of Seminyak, which is the better location to stay for walking to shops/cafes and spas, is it up by the Four points Sheraton in the northern end near the W Hotel, or back down closer to Legian? It looks like the Courtyard by Marriott hotel looks is more inland. I am not one for scooters. I would love your advice. If you had your time again, which hotel would you stay at in Seminyak, even if it was not a Marriott hotel? The map looks like everything is very spread out and it was so long ago that I went to Bali so I imagine it has changed a lot since then :)

Hi! First I just just just now published my Bali tips article (it's free) on my personal blog so please check that out here nickgray.net/bali/ Then for your question: The Legian Seminyak is right near the water, so if your goal is going to spend time at the beach, I'd say stay there. If "you're not one for scooters" I would say you'll be in for a bit of a shock as EVERYONE rides scooters now in Bali, and it was quite a pain in the butt to wait for normal taxis, navigate traffic, etc (the scooters are much faster). But you'll be OK really if you just take a car. Use the Grab app and install it beforehand. Check the article on my blog. I'm sad to say that honestly Seminyak and Canggu and all that stuff was a bit... overcrowded and polluted. It really isn't the "magical Bali" that you might remember. I suggest staying much farther out to get more into nature.

@@nickgray Thanks so much Nick, I really appreciate it. I am going to Bali to rejuvenate and I am happy with a beautiful pool and a walk or bike ride along the beachfront path like in Nusa Dua. Your videos were the most insightful I must say and I appreciate the detail you provided. I hope you continue to make these hotel reviews, as I really enjoyed them, Your honesty and authenticity really shone through and you have a great presence on camera. I am checking out your tips in your article now, Thanks for the link. Have a lovely weekend, warm wishes, GG 😊
