It's not your fault, it's the mindset of today's world. You can't say anything bad about anything anymore or people will threaten your life and the life of your children. How the fk are things supposed to get better anywhere if we keep killing or threatening people into silence anytime they say something they don't like. Don't apologize to these a***holes. And please accept my apologizes for no one being able to listen to anyone anymore and always telling them to can it. So depressing that you are being harassed like this.

You can buy a battery booster, which is the size of a VCR tape, very light very easy to use to boost your car, your husband can show you in about 30 seconds how do use it to boost your car. My 20-year-old autistic daughter has a 1999 Honda CRV and I taught her how to use it to booster her vehicle, and she figured out how to use it and 20 seconds.

I lived in Canada for 35 years, I moved to Missouri for the warmer weather, only two weeks of snow a year. It is a much more pleasant existence. I would suggest that your next car be a Toyota, they are more expensive at first, but It will save you a lot down the road down the road on repairs.

You need to plug your car in . The block heater the battery heater and the oil pan heater. Then you should carry supplies in your car for the cold . A tent heater will work provided you leave the window down a crack. You should also learn to make the clothing just order the fabric and a pattern . I grew up with hand me downs and home made stuff.
@LifeinYellowknife Жыл бұрын
You can’t really live here and drive and not plug your car in or have a block heater. We have had both yes and still had issues. I obviously have an emergency kit in my car. There is no reason to make my own clothes. Thanks for your comment but I’m assuming you haven’t watched many of my other videos to make this comment. It’s pretty odd to think I’d be that unprepared living in the north.

Gymnastics will fill up more than ball/puck based sports. There is only so much capacity in the gym, and trainers can only handle so much kids at once. However with sports like hockey/soccer/lacrosse you want as many players as possible in your league to form enough teams. With big enough populations of players they can even separate the players by skill levels into separate leagues.
@LifeinYellowknife3 жыл бұрын
My daughter really wanted to do hockey/skating but the practices were Sundays and also they wouldn't let parents in or to watch. I was supposed to drop her off without her having ever been there and I knew she had no idea how to do any of the equipment herself etc etc. For a five year old that's a bit much in my opinion. But good to know about those other sports not filling up as quickly! We def hope to get them in soccer this year- good to know there is a better chance than I thought!!

In Florida so I understand 100%, but you might wanna visit a few northern states here first. Just visiting family in the northern midwest is harder than when I lived there as a kid because the changes in global climate patterns is making the north colder while making our weather in the south hotter and more miserable. I've always been fascinated by the cities/towns up north, as someone who lives in Downtown Montreal its quite the difference! I had a few questions.. Is the majority population comprised of Native Canadians up there? How developed are the cities/towns? Are there functioning roads, 24/7 electricity and water, etc? What is downtown like? You see many office buildings/high-rises? What is the social culture like up there? Do people have a tendency to be more quiet and keep to themselves, or is it rather lively (comparing to nightlife in cities like Toronto or Ottawa) How cold does it get during the winter? Is the terrain mainly forests like it is down south or is it more plains/grasslands? Does anyone live on those small islands at the northernmost parts of the Northwest Territories? Thanks in advance! Hope the winter is going fine up there.. Its been -41 here so I cant comprehend what you guys have.

I’d be happy to answer those questions in an upcoming video/live. :-) I’ve never heard of it being -41 in Montreal. That’s insane. You can def comprehend it if that’s true!

@@LifeinYellowknife Yeah, it was quite insane 😂. To be more specific, the 'feels-like' temperature was -41, its actual temperature was hovering around -25 to -30. Well not without paying crazy shipping (at least that I know of). I could order from IKEA for example but I can’t even imagine how much shipping would be. I am not exactly sure about other things but it’s def something I’ll have to look into in the future lol!

I know this is older video the arguing and fighting does make sense because Yellowknife Iam sure idf the only major city so anymajor city is going to have issues like that. I am very currious about the NWT Ireally don't know allot about the area just what I have see through a persons gopro playing ice hockey on a frozen lake in the middle of the night a few years back and a few Mini TV seires but those shows usually dont show the truth so it is hard to tell whats for real and what isn't . you are speaking through familiy experiences which is cool, I am going to check out your other videos to get a better idea before Imake any decision on just heading uop that way ( I live in Aldergrove area which for most people they call the lower parts of BC vancouver hehe) it is growing here and a little to noisy\ active for my likeing feeling its time to move. so again wouldnt mind checking the area out and also seeing what types of work is out that way.

@@LifeinYellowknife I would....Jesus worshipped on the Sabbath Day and so did the apostles for 300 years after him. The same is true of the Passover. The bread and wine ceremony was kept for 325 years once a year. Now people do it whenever they feel like and it means nothing. Things have deviated so far from what the Bible teaches.

Hi! Just found your video and channel and I'm loving it so far. Could you perhaps do a video for tourists? For example, I'm hoping that once COVID settles down and travelling is safe again, I can visit Yellowknife for the Northern Lights. Perhaps you can talk about when is the best time to visit, your recommendations for accommodation, where to go see the lights, just general things to keep in mind when staying there for a few nights, what to expect, etc. :)

Hey! I hope you can respond to me, I don't know how else to message you, I am not tech savvy when it comes to KZbin. But I am in the process of moving to Yellowknife and the housing market for rentals seem really slim and scary. I am a nurse but my position does not come with staff housing. Anyway, I would really appreciate it if you could reach out to me so we can discuss life in Yellowknife, housing market, neighbourhoods to live in or avoid... Thank you and I hope to hear from you :)
@LifeinYellowknife Жыл бұрын
Best of luck to you! I have lots of videos on those topics. Hopefully you’ll find them useful. On my KZbin page Home Screen near the top there is a bar of options with things like videos, playlists, community, etc. one of those buttons will be a magnifying glass. You can use that to search my videos and find what you are looking for. There isn’t much that I haven’t covered about living here lol! As for the rental market, I’d be worried about moving here right now for sure. It’s slim. We got really lucky but I know that people have lots of trouble finding places that they want. I would personally avoid downtown and Lanky Court but really it seems to be kind of a town where things are mixed. My street for example is great on one end and not great on the other. We just had someone on the other end shot at a house party. Anyway, hope you find what you are looking for! My husband is a nurse too at the hospital so maybe we will run into you someday! :-) I totally get the tech savvy thing btw lol.

First of all why do people buy cars that are not suitable for Yellowknife? THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CAR THAT IS SUITABLE TO WHERE YOU LIVE UNLESS YOU MODIFY IT. CAR MAKERS PRACTICE "PREDATORY ENGINEERING " THE WAY IT IS BUILT..What i mean is equipped with a dual battery system, a regular lithuim ion battery for summer, and change over to nickel metal hydrade battery for winter, HENCE NICKLE METAL HYDRADE IS BETTER FOR CHARGING IN COLD WEATHER. TOWING VULTURES AND REPAIR SHOPS DON,T LIKE WHAT I,M CONVEYING ON BATTERY TECHNOLOGY. YOU PROBABLY CAN,T GET ONE THROUGH CANADIAN TIRE. stainless steel brake fluid lines, , salt on roads instantly eat those vital components, and leave you in ether a bad accident or killed,stranded. I know better because I do my own repairs . A creature comfort heater garage should be treated as a religious order. VIA rail of Canada should extend its service to not only yellow knife but also to great bear lake to the north. I DRIVE A 1979 CHEVY VAN G-10 WITH A LOT OF STAINLESS STEEL MODIFICATIONS. I,VE BEEN IN THE TRADE AS A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN STATE OF MASS AND NEW HAMPSHIRE. I USE COMMUTER RAIL TO GET TO WORK DAILY. I,M AN EMPLOYEE OF THE COMMUTER RAIL OF BOSTON MASS USA. I liked watching your videos. Iived in Thompson MB 2008-2010 & I think there are similarities. I would have to drive 750km to go to Winnipeg and there was nothing else around. You mentioned your church, I was Bout the only Jewish guy in town, never mind a small community, I was about it. Yellowknife is oro8about the same. I finally left, in 2010 it was a bit lonely there and isolated, but I did meet some nice people there on the other hand. I got to meet people I couldn't in a regular city there. Perhaps you found that where you are, you get to know a few people quite well you otherwise wouldn't due to the isolation.

People are very welcoming and friendly here. People coming here to live can help. Do you want medical professionals to come here to help the people because that is why my family moved here so that my husband could work at the hospital. No one has made me feel unwelcome here except for a select few comments like this that I have received. It’s very rude. I’m not looking for special privileges. I am looking for a functional car and life. I’m sorry you feel this way and I hope you find happiness and joy in your life.
