I live in Quebec, my greenhouse 12 feets per 22 feets is not full sun in winter, I dont insulate it, the north side of the wall is my house we have a lot of -15 -20 C and the soil is not Frozen, this autumn I put a compost pile with fence dog 2 feets tall, in march I going to put a cable heater on the compost put some top soil and seeds on with a clear plastic with grow light ( big heater pad). Nice video sir

It seems like you may be able to capture more heat on sunny days to charge the underground battery if you had a hot air collector ( basically a duct with holes) near the top of the front wall where your vents are now and connected to your return air pipes going underground. Pushing that hotter air down there may allow you to vent less and have a warmer battery for the winter. Fantastic videos, looking forward to updates! Thanks!

Thanks for the great information on your four season greenhouse. I would like more information on your new zone with the pex lines . I will be building a greenhouse this spring with the geothermal pipes . I'm thinking about putting the pex lines under the corrugated pipe. Are your temps coming out of that zone significantly better? thanks for any additional information.

Thanks for such a great resource. Do you do on premise tours? I am researching climate batteries and very grateful you have a resource for Northwest MT.

There is a guy in Alberta that has a similarish greenhouse but he has a second layer with a insulated curtain that lowers over the glazing at night to help insulate.

You are one of the only one that have there pipes under the greenhouse that have a sunkengreenhouse. Do you know why people usaly do there piping for geotermic outside the sunkengreenhuse and under when they have a greenhouse on the soil level?

This is so amazing! Do you just let your fan run year round? Or cycle it off and on through the day?

The fans are on thermostats. I am not growing this winter but it has worked well in the past when I grow in zones.

Super! Are the tubings in earth with holes or without? What's the air fan power?

I used pipe with holes but would not recommend doing that. We experienced a water leak and had water infiltrate the pipes.

The fans need to be sized to the amount of air you need to move as well as the size of pipe that you are using.

These systems are examples of a great deal of thoughtful infrastructure but there are few examples of real food production. Is there something that I am missing?

Flaw in your design sir. Heat energy always wants to rise. You should have put the pex loop under the air tubes. Preferable under 2ft of sand. Its a MUCH better thermal mass than just dirt.
