Stutz may not have veered into the realm of multi-cylinder chariots like some luxury brands, but the Indianapolis automaker that “made good in a day” had an approach that arguably was more worthy: a dual overhead-cam straight-eight with four valves per cylinder. Called the DV-32 (“Dual Valve”), Stutz introduced this engine in 1931, adding to its unique portfolio of safety glass and low center of gravity. This short-wheelbase 1932 DV-32 Super Bearcat by Weymann best exemplifies the Stutz spirit, one that appeared at the crossroads of sport and luxury.
