I lost the only friend i ever trusted back in middle school. We were like brothers and did everything together, Till one day he ended in a car accident. I dedicate this song to him. He He will always be in my heart and never be forgotten

Lost my brother in Novemeber of 09. He was the singer of our band, no song has ever hit home like this one did. I went to their show after this album release where I live and wanted to reach out to them to find out who wrote the song, I never did find them after the show. This video finally explains who it was for. RIP.

This is one of the most beautiful performances of this song... This freaking song kept me alive when i lost a dear friend to suicide two months ago, If it weren't for this song i'd be dead... I told that to Alan when i saw them live and they played this and he hugged me (and i'm a dude) it was awesome lol :) I owe my life to these guys they are amazing... yea i know some of you will comment on my post saying i'm gay for hugging Alan but it meant the world to me.

I lost my brother, McClain when he was 19... November 26th, 2009. He was the singer of a band we were starting. I tried to talk to Dan when they came to town last time, but didn't catch him after the show... I just wanted to thank him for this song. Every word hits so close to home and the song came out just a few months after his death. It meant more than a song and I never got my chance to really thank him for this.

I know exactly what it's like to lose someone. I lost my dad 3 and a half years ago and my uncle 2 months after. I was only 13, but songs like this help people like me who have experienced a great loss. My heart goes out to anyone who has lost a loved one, but just take it one step at a time, and breathe in and out, because it WILL be ok, as said by the greatest band of all time.

After all the acoustic versions they've done, this is truly my favorite. The vocals in this one, though not as refined as the other versions, just hold so much more emotion than the others.

@WesBoom7 when someone you love passes away, you try not to think about it too often to avoid emotional hurt. i know if i had to think about the year someone i love died, it'd make me think about how, why, and how it affected me and i'd cry on the spot. dan is staying strong, something alot of people can't do.
