Thanks for making this video sir. You just helped me in my Mathematics assignment 😊❤. Much love from Nigeria 🇳🇬🇳🇬

@syrenissen Fourier series can be used to solve differential equations. These equations may arise from a multitude of physical phenomena (including, but not restricted to, geophysics). I encourage you to do a few searches and see what you can find.

Hello professor, I have a question. For the problem @5.50 why did you not mention if the function is ODD or EVEN after drawing its plot? According to my observation the plot shows that the function is definitely not even, however, to my surprise it is not ODD as well. I'm confused as to why is this not recognized. Maybe my understanding is incorrect. Please help me understand this point. Thank you very much.

I have 15 years temperature data. I want to remove seasonality variation from the time series data, so how can I get the constan term ao, the amplitude and the phase change by using these given temperature data? thank you

Great videos Chris:D You break down the problems, so it makes it very easy to understand even though i consider this to be quite hard. Keep up the good work! - From Norway

Hi - this is a live lecture in front or around 300 students in a large lecture theatre, so shouting is definitely necessary. Even more so since the theatre's microphone causes feedback and thus is useless.

why we did integration by parts in @8:29 why dont we integrate it directly...as cosn(pie)x 0

Fourier’s theorem also explains why the Fourier series of a discrete function is “smoothed“ - the sum is just an average at all points. I’m imagining this is a good way to get rid of grainy looks in pictures. Does this make sense? :)
