I think I hear my high pressure fuel pump knocking while in drive or reverse but not in neutral . Do they knock when going bad? I see a leak there so I need the gaskets as well. Thank you so much.

In order to replace valve cover gaskets, to check or replace timing chain or to check or replace camshafts you have to remove the fuel pumps.

You have to remove the intake manifold cover to access the pcv valve.

Great Video Tyler. I have leaking fuel pump gaskets on my 07ls 460..I watched the entire video...and was wondering if all of the cables and other hardware that was located in the front, far from the fuel pump..did those cable harnesses really need to go....can you get away with just discharge the fuel system, and start the procedure with minute 17:00...I know there is going to be a tight squeeze to with the cable harness in the way...but with hindsight...do you think you can get away with it?

I think its worth a try to complete the job without moving the wires, however I think its may be necessary for a complete and untainted job completion. Please post back with your findings.

No you don't need to remove the harness on top of the intake manifold. If you watch other videos on this job or valve cover gasket replacement you will see no one else removed them. I just done some timing chain work on my 07 LS460 never removed any of the plugs or harnesses on top of the intake.

From looking at this video it appears that the engine on the LS460 "L" version is different va the regular LS460, it's A LOT more in the way to get to the high pressure pump.

Hey I have a 08 ls460L it makes a mild squeel when I push on the gas I'm not 4 sure if it's the belt or one of the pulleys maybe u would have some insite on it

There is a lift pump there in the tank. This is the high pressure fuel pump on the engine.
