One of the most useful conventions in bridge as it opens up valuable bidding space when responder has a game going hand. Some hands are unbiddable without FSF. We will concentrate on primarily showing shape, rather than just showing a stopper for notrumps.
This lesson is suitable for improvers & intermediate players of all bidding systems.

Regarding playing the finesse at 32:48, if you play match points you should take the finesse. If you play IMPS you should play safe.

Thanks Bajir and Jack for a great lesson. One thing that still puzzles me though - if opener has nothing more to say about their shape and has a stopper in the unbid suit, and is therefore bidding NT (as per the 4th priority), why does opener only bid 2NT with 12-15 points? Surely if opener has at least 13 points the partnership have enough for game (as partner needed at least 12 points to play FSF). So why doesn't the opener bid 3NT with 13+ points rather than 2NT? Is it to leave space to explore a possible slam?

Brilliant class. Why did Jack rebid a hand with 17 points show a weak hand by rebidding lower suit at the 2 level. I would take that as a weak hand up to 15 points. Also wondered why Jack used 4th suit forcing when they has AJ X of clubs, had stoppers in 4th suit. Found this confusing whilst he did end up in 4H a better contract.

Great class! Learned a lot about both the bidding and the play. Unfortunately, in watching it on KZbin not live, my wife and I found Jack's patter of "Hi John, Hi Sarah. Good to see you again. Hi Peter," an impediment to concentrating. I wonder if there is a way to edit that out before posting to KZbin.
