A savior of a sort from on high. The right man in the right place at the right time. We're all grateful for Mike Royer's Herculean contribution to Kirby's '70s output. Their names are now linked like some two head beast of comics lore.

In the 80s was when I got back issues of Kamandi and even Captain Victory, is when I started to notice inkers and their styles, so it was Royer’s inks that was the first and most appreciated for me when I would look at anything he did with Kirby.

At 36.40, the joke about center of gravity is incorrect. The flatbed truck has most of the weight in the front, and at the angle Barda is holding it is approximately correct. My only difficulty is nit-picking the physics in the first place! With gaping tropes like how a luxury liner can be lifted out of an ocean by hand, or how a person falling thirty stories doesn’t splat when caught in Superman’s arms…

I wish Kirby had stood his ground on telling DC not to change the way he drew Superman! Let Kirby draw the way he does, he was the king! The way he drew Superman was just fine, in fact, it would have been much more energetic and exciting than the generic way DC changed it.
