It's easter so i thought i would try out my new Dutch Oven with a nice Easter Bunny. I ave never used the dutch oven before but I'v dun a good number of Rabbits in crock pot on the wood stove so this should go well. So full disclosure this is not the real Easter Bunny that i am about to cook. It just so happiness that all i had to do to catch and cook this rabbit was to go on crags list and type in Rabbits for sale. And yes we did tell the seller that we were looking to buy Meet rabbits for the sole purpose of make a video called "Easter Bunny Rabbit Catch and Cook In A Dutch Oven".

Rabbit is in the spirit of 87 Days Alone. One chef's trick with garlic is to smash a section with the flat of a wide knife blade, cracking and loosening the skin. Lifting the meat out is easy after that. In braises, it is not even necessary to remove the skin; it will come off in the pot and it will add a bit more flavor. You have some speed and skill with the chef's knife! Good tip!

Fowler's Makery and Mischief you can do a faster way but with less reward(flavor/oils) you put your garlic in a closed container/cup/jar/pot etc and just shake it vigorously for about 45 secs just knock it senselessly and it will be peeled.

I rub the unsquished clove between my two hands after cutting off the bottom and it peels right off. As far as band aid is concerned, I tear the end off the wrapper and split the two halves from the short end by inserting my thumbs and tearing them asunder thus freeing the sterile dressing within.

Fowler wanted to have rabbit for Easter and shared a video of him doing it. Some people got bent out of shape about it, and I can't see why. He likes the outdoors and living off of the land. I hunt and fish and grow gardens because that's how I came up and I like knowing where my family's food comes from. The foods sold in stores has so much bad stuff pumped into them. I applaud the man for doing the right thing for his family.

Fowler's Makery and Mischief Hi from Sydney Australia! My name, as you can see is William. Love yr vids, as a Christian myself, I am pretty selective about what I want to see & hear on KZbin. You may upset the Jews & Muslims with yr little bacon grace! lol. I have been confined to a wheelchair since 18, I am now 55. I had an asthma attack & stopped breathing for 5 minutes (no paralysis, something called Myoclonic Epilepsy due to oxygen hypoxia). To peel Garlic, wrap it in a cloth (or not), & put on a flat surface then roll it back & forth with your hand until you feel the skin come off, easy! I was a little disheartened when you you started telling the true story of Easter, it cut away to a choir singing? Your saying GRACE before each meal is very encouraging, remember this acronymn, "G.R.A.C.E" = Gods Riches At Christs Expense. Its a real pity I have no access to your "Alone" journey, no American History channel here. I was in America with a brother from church, he bought a 1926 Packard! We did a West Coast tour, mainly visiting the wonderful national parks & monuments. I spent 3 months there, Oct. to Dec. in 2011. I have family there, & was able to save money on motels by visiting 4 of my 5 American cousins. We were a little dismayed by the churches we attended sunday mornings, a lot of talking, not much biblical instruction. Great videos, keep them coming, remain strong in the faith. God bless you, William.

I always find it funny when people in the woods starting fires only start with Tinder and then realize they don't have enough medium small and large sticks to get the fire going so they got to run out and frantically breaking wood apart and when they get back, they got to start the fire over again. FYI. Easy way to peal garlic is to break it in to individual cloves, then put them all in a hard container, like a coffee thermos or a cocktail shaker and then shake them for around 60 seconds, when you dump them out, you have pealed garlic cloves. really quick and easy. just wash the coffee thermos or shaker really well after use or you will regret it when your coffee tastes like garlic.

About your garlic issue..... take the garlic in it's "paper" and seperate the segments from the clove(super freakin easy). You will be left with a bunch of garlic segments in their "paper". Take a segment, place it on a flat hard surface, place your knife FLAT on top of the garlic, slam the palm of your hand on the flat portion of your knife, BAM the "paper" now seperates from the garlic with ease. Now that im done typing this I must rewind so I can enjoy the full AWESOMENESS of your video. Keep it up broham.
@TheFacelid
@TheFacelid 6 жыл бұрын
When peeling fresh garlic, try giving the cloves a little bash with the end of your knife. It doesn't have to be hard enough to smash the clove. Just a little pressure will break the tension between the skin and the garlic it self, so when you cut the end off, the rest of the skin almost pops off by it self. It's MUCH easier than trying to peel it off :)

Knifemaking with Fritz no complaints so far outside of i brock the tippy tip tip off. when i was cleaning the rabbit i stuck it into a beach or maybe it was a rock marble and Brock the tip off. I should be able to easily lap the tip out. what do you think ? I think it was my bad for doing what i did.

@fritz3548 6 жыл бұрын
No i guess it was my mistake. Ur blade was my first time working with o1 steel, i probably left the blade a little bit too hard, when tempering it. The tip is a weak spot anyways, specially with really pointy and thin designs like with ur carving knife. On the other hand ur knife should be able to stay sharp alot longer without having to resharpen it. I got the heattreat of o1 sorted out by now and it truely is an awesome steel when heattreated properly.

I prefer to use a top from a food dehydrator top that has a heating element and fan and found an unglazed pottery pot to keep 200 bulbs of garlic at a time wrapped in bph free cling wrap and tinfoil. You heat it at 140°f for 2 months to make black garlic.

I've got a couple tricks for you with garlic skin you might like. After removing the root layer, you can take the flat side of your knife and place it on the garlic while it's on the cutting board and press it. Should peel off easy then. Or bring a jar with you and throw all your cloves in and smash them around until it all the skin comes off. Hope it helps! Keep up the great work and happy Easter.

Take that glove of garlic and give it a firm smash and the skin will come right off

Fowler's Makery and Mischief man that’s no fun. I felt the pain when I saw it. I really like that knife. I looked into having that guy make me one but I can’t afford it. Oh well man keep up the good work any way. Love ya!

The best way to skin garlic is to put the cloves in a bowl and cover it with a hard board like a cutting board and shake vigorously for at least 10 seconds. If you have 2 bowls of the same size you can hold the 2 bowls together with the openings together and shake.

Hey Zach. Garlic processing tip for you. Lay the flat side of your knife on the clove and give it a good whack. Peels off easily and also releases the flavor of the garlic.

First off, let’s just take a moment to appreciate those epic stick breaking edit sequences. Good stuff lol. Also, it’s 9:10 and between the story about the rabbit you made in boot camp and then the actual meal you cooked, I’m feeling hungry. Mouth watering hungry. Now I have to scramble around to satiate my craving lol. Bet it’s no where near going to be as good as that meal but beggars can be choosers.
