Im not blaming the parents, but how could you not hear from your child for 2 years and not have done any type of welfare check or filed a missing person's report? Im just assuming they didnt because the news didnt say she was missing

me and my mother have Never been close, she’s done some pretty foul things. but some way some how even she would never just go with out knowing ANYTHING if i were to go missing or something or just fell off from ALL of my other family members for years at that. i have a son and if he grew up to hate my guts and never wanted to talk to me i would atleast assure that he was alive and well HOWEVER I HAD TO. even if i had to stalk him lol but seriously. smh

I'm a mother of a child with down syndrome she's only 7 but she will be my life time job. I'll be damn if i don't check on her for 2 years, it's not the parents fault but i hope they do better now. I'm glad that woman is safe now i hope the family and woman heal from this.

Wait a second here…….the couple who were being interviewed on this news clip were the PARENTS of the person who had been kept as a prisoner for over 2 years of the Calderones, yet they didn’t bother trying to get in touch with her cuz they just thought that she was “living her life “??? I’m sorry but, as a parent of 3 of my own, who are all in their 20s & 30s, there’s no excuse for that. I’m not as close to my son as I am my 2 daughters, but I still try texting him every so often, just to touch base and let him know that I still love him and care about him. I would NEVER go 2 YEARS without speaking to him at all. That’s just crazy.

They obviously did''nt say anything about the details that you just provided, so how are we, the viewers, supposed to know all that? We don't. So all we have is what we're given. I'm not the only person who felt the way I do - there was plenty of other people on here who said the same type of feedback as I did. I'm sorry if what I said offended you or anyone in this story...that's not what I was out to do. These are comment sections....that's what people do - they comment on the story they get. And people can be cruel sometimes, I know. Had they gone into details about the fact that they kept moving around all the time, and there was no way of ever knowing where they were or the phone number to call, then I'm sure myself, as well as the other people on here who had the same opinion as I did, would'nt have had the same opinion, & our feelings would have been different.
