This reminds me of my cat that lost to cancer last year. She was also like this. One day I heard the neighbours dog yelling and yelping. When I went to look she was on the dogs back biting his eads😂😂 Her best friend my Boerboel dog never messed with her. These 2 clearly know each other and are having fun. I used to watch wild fox cubs near my sister’s house, playing with 2 or 3 of the local cats. The cats were only about 6 months old, as were the fox cubs. They used to play hide and seek and jump about gleefully when they found each other. It was so cute and very cheering.

Our family cat (Garfield) was an orange cat and the king of the hood. He used to pretend to not mind at all and then gave the other cats a big slap, which did lead to heated discussions with neighbours. He also went after small to medium sized dogs and used to follow us to the bakery until about 7, waiting outside like a dog. RIP, he died 2 weeks ago but with 18 years of badassery (ok, last 3 he retired) he had a great cat life.

@@gmc1966 I believe one of the primary reasons for that is foxes are not predators as much as they are scavengers, rarely foxes will take down adult rabbits, but as far as I know that is The largest creature, a fox is known to have killed (ignoring arctic foxes killing seal pups. But if you live in a village with wild arctic foxes, you probably know this) whereas cats are absolutely predators and on top of that, foxes are quite skittish, so if a cat approaches a fox because of curiosity, the fox is likely to run because they're not used to being approached and when they are approached it's usually a predator of theirs like a coyote or a wolf, but foxes are also quite intelligent So they can usually figure out that the cat is not trying to be a predator. It's just curious and that's how friendships can form, at least if the fox is on to it. Otherwise it's just going to keep running away and the cat's going to become disinterested

If you notice the cat's tail, he's not at all agitated, just playing also. Plus, the cat never looked for an escape route, which is what they will do if feeling threatened.

Are they just play fighting? I didn't think foxes were aggressive at all--if there was a chance they'd get hurt. Exvept,a fox out and about in daylight is not good. I see one sunning in my driveway on winter afternoons ( when not stretched out along the yellow stripe in the street). He has never moved when I go to my car-- about 10 feet from him. I guess he's healthy,this isn't his 1st winter at it.
