That was very interesting. I was in Singapore in the Navy at the time....But, 3 years later, working for Binns, Newcastle I was part of the team displaying the leek show prizes across Tyneside in clubs and pubs. One of the really big shows had a 3 piece suite and bedroom furniture as top prizes.
