The number 1 answer is because..... we as blacks are too damn scared to use our power in this situation. We rather go for the wants in life; money, a little power and women.

Neftali Valentin lmaoooooo you are dumb. I'm black. As a black man who lived in the hood didn't need affirmative action to get by. I was taught by my mother and father to Do4Self and don't wait for no one to get what I want. That's the problem with many who think getting handouts is the way to go. Then get comfortable with growth and building. Like I said. Nigga logic.

I agree with Quanell 100%. They NEVER fight against Black athletes from entering their universities, and we all know most of them were given easy passes throughout their lifetime because of their athleticism. I hated working on college group projects with athletes: a. They had to travel a lot, leaving the rest of us to complete the assignment. b. They weren't the brightest individuals. However, they bring in BILLIONS to these big name colleges. These great sport programs are these universities greatest form of recruitment, marketing, and merchandising. Most folk don't know that college coaches (especially schools with good football programs) are usually by far the highest paid employees, making more money than school presidents; coaches can make millions! It would hurt predominantly white schools, but would open doors for historical Black universities. I've never benefited from affirmative action anyway, so take it away.

The fact is as a black teen about to apply to college myself I’d never go to a HBCU. Acceptance rates are higher, average SAT scores are lower. Why would I pay for a bad quality of education? Nobody is forcing black athletes to attend Duke, Kentucky, Kansas etc.

Black athletes are admitted to schools not because their skin color but because of their skills, or their merit if you will. They earned their spot on a team and thus earned a spot at the school. If you have two athletes one is better than the other, that’s all you care about you don’t consider race when handing out scholarships. Likewise, if you have two students, neither one is good enough to make a sports team, you shouldn’t consider race, gender, age, religion etc. just give the most qualified person what they have earned.

And no black people don't need affirmative action, but let's be honest it is much easier for white kids to become educated than it is for blacks, especially those coming from the inner city. Whites have a headstart in this country, but something just told me that God is going to do something miraculous with this affirmative action decision. Us black folks are going to show the world the power of the almighty God. I just got that feeling.

rafael pio quality of education often depends on resources. School budgets are set by property taxes. Live in an area with "devalued property" = lower $ amount from property taxes = less money for local schools. Check out the Ron Brown story. Good teacher, under performing students, end of 1 school year, highest grades in the state. POC have same potential & ability. Fewer opportunities.

HBCUs are known for their academia? Are you having a laugh mate? Most grads from HBCU are in the humanities... HBCUs aren't exactly known for cutting-edge scientific research and world-renowned faculty with scientific patents and accolades to their name. Marching bands and fraternities are not what college is all about...

NoOne NoOneAtAll Now , your ignorance of HBCUs graduate records in Society. Especially on the new research projects that's been shining. You don't anything about these colleges. Fraternities are apart of the experience in Every University and Colleges.

Provide some links to HBCUs award-winning faculty members in the science fields not some liberal SJW professor in a useless field such as gender studies...Give me examples of some of the cutting-edge research works going on in HBCUs.

Sorry it took so long to reply. But you may not have had anything to do with slavery on a personal level. But I promise you’re ancestors gained a lot. The government had no problems giving Asians and Jews reparations when the beautiful black mind invented everything of significance. The only thing the black man didn’t invent was the patent office.
