Coy, being a massive Spider-Man fan, despite not watching much animation, I highly recommend you watch The Spectacular Spider-Man TV show. Many think it's the best adaptation of Spider-Man ever, me included. It ended due to rights issues and had a relatively short run, but what it did with Spidey's mythos in the short time it had was truly spectacular (pun intended! Puns should be appreciated, not shunned, but I digress, the show's superb).

But the synopsis for Dark Phoenix says that they go on a space mission and whatever blast that is not only gives her the Phoenix powers but unlocks that moment in her mind that Xavier suppressed for all those years.

Casey Jones I think they can easily accommodate that. If she is the predestined avatar/host of the Pheonix, they they could say she has some access to the power before "full merger". By giving into the power in Apocalypse she will be opening herself up fully to the Phoenix. This could the tell the Phoenix Force (cosmic entity) that she is willing to accept the force/it easier to possess her. Thus merging with her in Dark Phoenix.

I personally think it’s going to be a combination of the two- I think Jean does have a dark side to her that Xavier kept controlled, and then when she comes into contact with an entity in space, it’ll unlock that dark side and the burden of the two being thrust upon her will make her snap.

First of all, I'm not that worried about Deadpool, mostly because A) Disney HAS made R-rated movies, and some of them were truly excellent. They just come out under one of their other labels. B) IMHO, Deadpool 2's R-rated jokes were among the worst aspects of the film. The stuff that actually worked tended to not be R-Rated. Personally, I think there's too much being made out of Deadpool needing to be R-rated. I think D2 put in a lot of stuff to simply shock, but almost none of that stuff was funny. I felt like far too much of it was forced simply to get that R-rating. That's putting the cart before the horse. Just make a good, funny film, and if it happens to be R-rated, so be it. But to make something R-rated to satisfy the fans is really a bass-ackwards way of doing things.

This isn't a spoiler, to say that the "space" we get is the upper atmosphere, where a shuttle is (it was in the EW pictures and part of this trailer). Maybe they go back to being in Earth's upper atmosphere later in the movie, but I think that is about as space as this movie is going to get, because it's so "grounded." feh. Not to mention that the whole point of the Dark Phoenix saga is that we have to care about Jean, be invested in her, as a character, as a good person, and her relationships to her fellow X-Men, and her love for Scott. Then we have to see her getting the Phoenix power, how that affects her, and how she uses it to save humanity...but that how her mind was corrupted. So that power went dark, and became too tempting to go to, when threatened, so that she killed herself to save the universe from herself. It's an amazing story...but only IF you lay the groundwork for it. The character beats, the relationship beats are KEY. Without them, who cares?
@agentofchaos74566 жыл бұрын
The Dark Knight pretty much disproves this. The general audience cared about Harvey Dent, his fall from grace, and his death. Which all happened in one movie. And Dark Phoenix took place mostly on earth and the X-Men only went to the moon in the end.
@WedgeOfSpite6 жыл бұрын
We care about Harvey Dent, to a degree, but it's Joker's movie. We don't really the scope of Harvey Dent's tragedy, because we WERE just introduced to him. He doesn't have a years long friendship/admiration with Bruce so that his accident/madness is more tragic. Plus, Harvey and Bruce were friendly in TDK, but they weren't true friends, and not canonically, in love (I don't judge people's personal headcanons). With the Dark Phoenix we get why the X-Men are so protective of her, despite everything she had done. We get why Scott is willing to die fighting with her, and why Jean is willing to kill herself, to spare him. And the Phoenix takes place in space, SpaceJammers, the Shi-Ar, the M'Kraan crystal, Dark Phoenix eating a sun, the tribunal, Gladiator, the whole deal. Space certainly a strong thread in the Phoenix and Dark Phoenix saga, beyond Jean saving people in a space shuttle as one time, and dying years later on the moon, as the second time.
@agentofchaos74566 жыл бұрын
The Dark Knight wasn’t Joker’s movie but Batman’s. But my point is a single film can create investment in a character and kill them off in the very movie they were introduced and provoke sympathy in the audience, films have been doing that for decades. Though I doubt Jean is going to die. Yes, but the star eating and the fight on the moon is all at the end of the story. Before that it takes place entirely on earth.

Pitch for a PG 13 Deadpool movie. At the very beginning Deadpool just address the non R rated elephant in the room. But he acknowledges that he gets one f bomb and a few shits before it’s R. He realizes that he’s used one already. He goes on to explain that there are certain language rules to be either a PG 13 or R rated movie. And he explains the rules emphasizing that he gets one true F bomb before the studio starts bleeping him. He’s getting us pumped for the movie like he is actually hyping up the movie you’re watching in the opening of that movie. And just as his rant is wrapping up he goes to run out of wherever he is he falls and fucks his knee up really badly and he just is on the ground he’s swearing a ton using all his curse words in a 30 second period. Until he realizes what he did he starts swearing more and it’s only bleeps for a few seconds as he’s writhing in pain and anger, until it cuts to the title. And from there you write a Deadpool movie and bleep him every time he swears, have him grumble and be upset about it once in a while and I think it would work.
